I like relays... can we have snog handovers? We did that at Round Norfolk Relay a few years back and at the Ridgeway Relay :D
Master, Sir, if you are ordering junior vests, may I assume these are small? As in smaller than the smallest senior vest? I would like an orange one please... But not so small that it is a crop top :rolleyes::cool:
"snog handovers"? - sounds a bit unhygienic to me - what about Health & Safety!
Pennine Bridleway Relay is on Jan.31st but I might be busy - is everyone keen for that again?
Any other suggestions for Relay events?
I think Man vs Horse would be fab, but that's not til 12th June...
How about we just do a mass entry to an LDWA Challenge event and do a "pack run" (probably splitting into more than one "sub-pack"!):
there's Two Crosses, Hebden, That's Lyth, Rombald's Stride and in particular:
Troller's Trot on 6th March - which I'm already intending to do - how about we take over Wharfedale for the weekend!?
Man v Horse is good, but requires only three runners as a relay. Mind you, we could have multiple teams... I am planning to do it on a horse next year... :)
I am up for the relays what ever suggestions come to the fore, as for the snogging at change over i draw the line at Nee Bother, Amex, ML any other blokes and possibly some dodgy looking women:eek: Hanneke MG are not dodgy(just to clear that point) ..... MG winter is upon us , shall I pm you future training runs?????
Snogging??? What's that??? :D
3 pints and I am anybodys, so off to bed now before you two become attractive :)
Man v Horse is my fave event ever
it would be so cool to know somebody riding - we could race you! :D
we could have multiple teams
and they let relay runners "run through", so that Leg1 runners could continue through Leg2 and/or Leg3, and Leg2 runners could continue through Leg3, so that gives people loads of choice
only prob is that it's a week after Duddon, which I'm definitely doing, and both are in school hols, so might take a bit of negotiation/logistical shenanigans...
What's this fell pony stuff all about? If you want a 4 legged animal to get up and down hills it's a goat you want!
Good Question, sorry I do not know the answer!!!! We have a goat(female) running for us though , but I am not going to bring the beard thread back out!!!!!!
I ran a Xc today for AAA club in the NYSD league , had a very good afternoon out on a very hilly proper XC course and claimed a long awaited scalp............. now celebrating with a real ale while missus is engrossed in X-Factor what ever that is.........:D
Met four fell ponies whilst we were out on the clag in Kentmere on Saturday. I was surprised at how stocky they were, and how hairy their legs seemed to be. However, they seemed friendly enough, but probably only because they were interested in the vague possibility we were going to give them some food. They also had quite hairy noses, apparently this is normal.
A club member called Keith , we have been bitter rivals for 20years, but he has had the better of me over the short stuff the last few years as i have been training for long slow stuff. Have now changed training to shorterstuffover winter and its paying off..........The loftus girls did well good strong team that!!!!!
Why not, I even have a spare black vest should you want to borrow it!!!
Loftus like H,pool have had great success on XC but we struggle to get a full squad out these days, last year was our worst in the 25years I have ran for the club. No such problems with Fell ponies just do your own thing if it suits.
Will be at Clay bank on Sunday with a bit of luck.
