15m/3525ft worth of hill reps, beautiful sunny day, one of them good to be alive days:)
about 22 miles, about 2,000ft
glorious glorious day
An hour around Woodhall Hills & Calverley woods etc. Glorious day here too, shame I went over on ankle just after half way round, hoping to be ok for IMFR tomorrow.
Brilliant weather today - ran up Grisedale -Dollywaggon - Helvellyn - Raise - Glenridding. Good conditions underfoot on compacted snow - not a breath of wind either. The picture is frozen Grisedale tarn - you can see someone has walked across to sign their name. They are either stupid/brave or very knowledgable
15 miles including 4260' of climb. The Pendle Cloughs course with a bit of "creative navigation" thrown in :( Loads of people out running on Pendle today probably doing a bit of Half Tour reccieing ?
Well for a good laugh at my expense I will share my "creative navigation"
The blue line was the planned route and the red the actual. You will note I missed CP 5 completely which would in theory shorten my route/climb but I went "walkabout" after CP6 which made the difference  For CP 5 the plan was to climb geronimo and head off half left at the top but the walls are in the way and I figured the race organiser would not want us climbing over walls so I carried on and ended up back on my route but having missed CP 5 completely!. Oh one other tip. When descending to CP 3 go down the right hand side of the wall !

ENJOY !!
parked up in nant peris (old llanberis).started with a slog up Elidir Fawr followed by Foel Goch and Y Garn.dunno how far but was out for 3 hours.Plenty of climbing in deep snow though ! The side ways sleet was fun to.
Friday 19th. Roswaite to Esk Pike, Crinkles, Cold Pike, Pike O and New Dungeon. Harrisons, thurnacar, High Raise and down to Roswaite. Superb conditions, cold, blue skies and good snow.day of dreams!!
7.6 miles, still on the road unfortunately but the snow is back and the skies were clearing for the last few miles. The hills in the West were still under a shroud of cloud though...
8.2 miles over Baildon & Ilkley Moors. A couple of inches of snow, lovely.
14.5 miles from my house to half way up Black Hill and back. 2300 of ascent and brilliant snow fun.
12 and a bit across local fields. Reet knackered legs.
Hill reps on tuesday and the just a short run on thusday and then its Noonstone:eek:
10 miles with 1200' climb round local snowy paths and tracks.
16 miles, 2000'+ climb, local run as the dark and white mm was cancelled. Nice morning out, pretty slow because of the snow and a tight groin muscle on my running partner..... but still lovely to get out in the clear fresh winter.
ZHR. On Friday it was good a bit powdery at Esk Hause but generally good across the crinkles and elsewhere. Down hilling was great breaking through the fresh snow either side of the obvious trail, much easier than if there was no snow. saturday am in keswick looked good but had to be home in Nottingham by 2pm so no time to check out conditions under foot. Enjoy your recce's this weekend.
Nearly a full tour on saturday.
Supposed to be in Wales biking today, but the snow closed the track...gutted :/
7.5 miles of multi-terrain today in the snow and blizzards.
3m/900ft early morning livener, lots of black ice about, take care folks;)
5am special: 7.3mi/c1000ft run on road/lane/track with headtorch. Gentle pace (1h01) due to very icy/slippery conditions underfoot.
Usual 7 mile training loop, didn't feel all that good, but when I put the hammer down for a hill sprint, everything seemed ok.
not really a training run. ran back from garage about 3 miles but with a stiff climb up to my house. still l.ots of snow on the ground but most is now frozen.
I'll have to run back this PM but will take it steady. Racing tonight!
What are the road conditions like Ian? Mr P very reluctant to come if its icy!!
1000' climb on treadmill constant pace..so increasing effort
knackered :D
1.5 mile Xcountry loops tomorrow
short and sharp hill reps on wednesday
Yes should be there - but setting off mega early as usual - dont look for the usual cars as they wont be there :p:D
Glad you were feeling fit Ian - I was somewhat rough feeling.....
Same run he did, but 5 1/2 minutes slower.....
5 miles of intervals at 5min mile pace - cream cracker'd now.
Round my 7 mile training loop, put more effort in today and felt better/faster.
I find it too easy to slip into a nice rhythm and stick with it....not good.
I really need to buy my first ever watch so I can start timing runs to gauge improvement :)
7 mile out and back along canal this lunchtime ZZZzzzzzzzz
only made bearable by the brisk pace
tough run today with tired legs. Not helped by the snow and the terribly cold biting wind.
From Yorkshire Bridge over Win Hill along the edge and up on to Kinder dropped down by the YH up on to Back Tor and along to Lose Hill then followed HPM route back over Win Hill.
Knee deep drifting snow on Kinder. We need a warm spell not more snow
13 mile and 3,300 ft
6.5 miles in wet snow at 7.20 pace. Not settling though. Water all over the place. No significant climbing or descending.
