Happy Birthday Egor, when are you going to come for a tour round the Derwent?

cheers, hungover at work, not at my best today

was planning on a trip round the dark peak area on bank hol mon 26th, not done a long run since 3 p's, any suggestions for a good 2/3 hr ish route, had thought of mickleden straddle route but open to alternatives

Try and avoid cutgate to Slippery Stones on a Bank holiday it will be busy.

But From Langsett head up Little Don to the end and up either climb NR Cat Clough or continue to Laund and follow this until it runs out and head up to D Edge until you can drop down Sheperds meeting stones. follow valley back down and climb back up via Lord Ed How Sprg and take Grouse butts direct to OE (you should pass an Aircraft wreck) then head due E and pick up a trod line all the way back to lower cut gate or be brave and head North and try and find Mickledon pond(good Nav test) and back, if you have time head to Pike Low.

I would show you around but I'll be in Scotland.

Thanks for kind thoughts everyone. Came down to Derbys this morning and spent the afternoon flyfishing with my twin brother (it's his birthday today too!) on the Derwent near Cromford. Caught two nice brown trout and going to pub shortly. Cycling planned for tomorrow with my other brother in the Peak, so all good!

Happy Birthday Derby Tup. Reminds me of an old Dales shepherd that used to work for a mate of mine who had a farm near to Lancaster University. He was always keen to tell any students or academics, that he came across, that he had a twin sister:- "But when I was 20 she was 20 too". They always walked away scratching their heads, "If you are twins, how could she have been 22 when you were 20?":confused:

Yep, got my montrail highlanders. Very pleased with them. Needed a 7 in the end. All set for Cader now. Time to taper me thinks (any excuse to sit on my backside!)
