You should have dropped me a line Stolly. I'd have joined you.
Ended up taking kids to pics but then got a short hilly road run in only 40 minute but went very hard probably 7 miles 800ft but fast

Had a wet and windy one on penyolewen and the carneddau before dropping into nant ffrancon and up onto the end of the glyderau and getting as far as y garn along the tops before the wind and rain defeated me. 6000' in 3.5 hours is not a bad return, these welsh hills don't mess about do they? Straight up
and down!
5m/1000ft with avatar up around Norland Moor, warmer today but nice and muddy and loads of puddles for pooch to run through.
Glossop Pennine Handicap today about 9.5/10 miles and 3000ft. Steady pace but very tough terrain I won't be riding 50 miles on the bike tomorrow!
Well it's been a while since I posted on this thread. Still injured but given up with it ever being fixed and just putting up with a bit of discomfort. 6 miles and 470 ft.
If I'd known that I might have popped over, Dark peaks club champs are starting out your way this year, No news on the course thouigh as it's kept very hush hush until a couple of days before.
Had did Julian do? hopefully He'll be carring tired legs if he turns up at PC tomorrow.
It was the Pennine Fell Runners Handicap in Glossop organised by George Scott, first one of the series and a real toughie, James Thorn, Yellow Slacks and Torside to climb. Sorry if I confused you IDP wasn't very clear in my last post. I didn't see Julian he's probably resting up for tomorrow.
8 miles last sun, 1 hour squash on weds, 3 hours a day hill reps at work Wed, Thurs and Fri carrying winch ropes and chains to extract timber from the hill. 1 hour squash today. Might go on Todays rest thread tomorrow!
After a lazy week (just an hour at gym on Tuesday and 5 miles run on Thursday) thought I'd make up for it this w/e:
Yesterday 6 miles trail run in Calverley area.
Today 13.25 miles/1800ft trail & fell run on Barden Moor, Burnsall, Thorpe, Cracoe & Rylstone Fell on another glorious day:D
Short run on stanage today, between coats of varnish. From the A57 end, up to the trig, down to the stone circle (via one of those sneaky bogs which look like grass until you step on them) and then back to the A57. 5 miles, 700 feet, bit over 50 minutes. Hopefully the weather's still OK tomorrow so I can get a bigger run in early on.
Had a poor summer not much impetus more basic exercise than training, too much wine and rubbish food, times right down and fared badly in things such as 3px though I still have the fitness to get round. Have made an effort to reverse this over last 2 weeks so

Wed 13th - 6 miles headtorch run, bit better
Thurs 14th- hill reps - not too bad
Sun 17th - Bradford half marathon (very hilly) am
5 miles torch run, pm.
Mon 18th - 3 mile run Kildwick Duathlon (only one not to chicken out)
Tues 19th - 7 mile club run tired but getting fitter
Wed 20th - 6 mile torch run, totally shagged
Sat 22nd - Calder valley rd 16 miles
Sun 23rd - 10 miles off road run
Drinking less wine, still eating crap though.
You make me laugh Anti with your only one not to chicken out, getting fitter one day and totally shagged the next comments, you truly are a comic athlete:thumbup:
Can't understand how someone so funny can be a misreable old git:confused:
Only call it as I see it . Could make claims my training was based on a scientific approach and then refuse to justify it ( Inov insider disease if left can turn into CLeighitis) or take umbrage at your comments and stamp my foot in pique (Brightside syndrome) or just shrug your comments off in the assumption you are total t*t :D but you are right I think grumpiness is the way to go and the new black.
Bah humbug
Fri 22nd, 12 miles 1200ft ish
Sun 24th, 11 miles 2000ft ish
back out and about and loving it. Trip up Ingleborough tommorrow.
You should defect to Wharfedale, after all we are 'the friendly running club'. The friendly atmosphere will be like an exorcism for you, all that antisocialness being driven from your body...:p

If you leave I may consider it (couldn't stand the hissy fits) - however you do realise if i get really fit Wharfedale will be trying to pinch me from the mighty KCAC which I understand is their standard operating procedure. However most new signings immediately contract prolonged injuries and are unable to do long distances or take up swimming so I will stay where I am - but thanks for the offer.
10 miles round ladybower this lunch time
Cross Training - 1350mtrs Structured swim session.
5.5m to work 6m home mostly uphill into a headwind. Dog says don't forget your taking me out later fat boy:p
30mins in hotel gym on treadmill and stepper. Humidity was incredible as there's a huge storm going on outside
Monday - 6 miles
Wednesday - 4.5 miles
2 runs in a week and it's only Wednesday! :w00t:
Rucksack run yesterday in the wind and rain ah the sign of things to come. Kettlewell, up Cam Head and up onto Gt Whernside back down to Kettlewell via Hag Dyke.
Brilliant navigational Night race tonight over Howden edge from the Strines in to celebrate young Toms 50th. About 20 teams out there in groups of 2-3.
8 miles 1200ft of tracks ,streams , rough steep heather bashing. 1.32 minutes
I paired up with Nicky for what was going to be a nice amble round midpack, Ended up first to every CP but just lost out to some faster runners after Nicky took a tumble. lovely moon lit night.
Shortish run this afternoon, racing the weather (and losing miserably!). Stanage North end across the moors to the South end of Bamford Edge, back along the length of Bamford Edge, across the rough to the stone circle and then back to the car via some nice sheep trods and a nasty bog or 2.
6 miles, 900 feet, 1 hour 10 minutes. The clag and drizzle arrived at the far point of the run so I got back to the car somewhat chilled and soggy... still an excellent run, and a good antidote to another day in the hospital.
Run to work and back, 22m this week, if i manage to drag my @rse out for a 20 miler at weekend i'm back up to 40m a week, plus all the HeadDogTorching:thumbup:
Flat but rough route today, up on the moors between Emlin and Margery Hill. After a bit of searching, we found what's left of the wreckage of a Stirling training bomber which crashed in 1944. Then a pretty fast run back to the car. 7 miles, 600 feet, 1 hour 25 minutes (including at least 10 minutes of searching).
