Nice one Daz, I'll give it a go tomorrow. It can only be an improvement on my patented get your trailing caught and fall on your face technique!:D

:) it's a dangerous sport is running
well i have been for a run in the wind and the sideways rain - if I closed my eyes I could almost imagine I was on top of pen y ghent again, but perhaps closing my eyes is not such a good idea while running round town in rush hour
Kinder downfall sunday and after 4 LONG hours with 3 small children tootling (bloody roadworks:mad: ) down the A1 yesterday a much needed plod was called for!
Alas - opened overnight bag - remembered trainers but not much else:eek: Managed to scrabble a rather oversized outfit together courtesy of my lovely mum in law and headed out into the gales of Peterborough. A very long, very flat, very straight boring road with not a hill in sight:(
Managed 2 and half miles before I couldn't take any more speeding cars, exhaust fumes and lack of scenery so turned round and headed the 2 and half miles back.
MAnaged to do the 5 miles averaging 8min miling - although God knows how as had just had a LOVELY, HUGE tea Home made jam roly poly is not the ideal fuel for running - stitch from the end of the driveway!
Back up the A1 again in a few hours - 2 children lighter:D
a lot better tonight

Cracking 80 mins on Pendle from Wellsprings side, through Ogden Clough and then followed Saturday's race route and then across to Scout memorial and back down to Howcroft brook. Steep climb up to trig nice and dry with plenty of grip - was very warm in the sun which is the forecast for this weekend.
Yesterday evening: approx 6 miles on high fells - Up Lightside, Dog rock, up James Thorn, down towards ashton clough and then back along the doctors gate path. Great evening for running and really enjoyed it - back just as it was getting dark
Today: Lovely day and am itching to get out. Thinking of a blast round the gravy 6 route later on before I travel over to the New Englandin the USA tommorow to look for a house
Had a nice run from Roddlesworth with Big Ken.
Over Great Hill and up Winter Hill. Back around Belmont reservoir.
Met a few Northern Vets afterwards and was introduced to Alan Heaton. A very interesting chap. Told us all about his Bob Grahams. The first one after Bob's original one. How he built it up to 60 peaks.
Missed out by a few minutes trying for 65 - could see the finish as he came down Skiddaw.
Very modest. His tussles with Joss Naylor sounded interesting and he was very complimentary about Erno.
I think his mates said Alan was 78 now - he wasn't telling!
Didn't get up to Chevin as planned - calf slightly tight earlier so just did 40 mins (5 miles) mostly off road from home instead plus the usual bike commute.
Today, from Gerlan up the ridge to Carnedd Dafydd, around the ridge to carnedd llewelyn and onto Yr Elen then down the ridge back to Gerlan. Nice horseshoe. Took 2 hrs, but could be a fair bit quicker, hard climb up.

Lunchtime, one mile splash in the pool.
Evening, 30 damp minutes on the turbo thing.
