Nee, the dance in the tents is pretty good as is the steel band.
we are camping again on the night and not far to stagger. I think most of the NFR lot camped last year, made for a canny party!
-
Re: Borrowdale Number Wanted!
Cheers Phil, we are in the lakes for the week leading up to the race, me & Mrs Bother gonna lay a trail of Jelly Babies every 100 mtrs and drinks bottle every mile so route finding will be a doddle:D
Which site will you be on, there was loads of discussion on here last year about this?

you'll enjoy it, it was the highlight of my year last year well apart from knocking nearly an hour off my Three Shires time but all the same....then again I might be putting a lot of the fact that the after race party made up for the blood stained finish!!
-
Re: Borrowdale Number Wanted!

Borrowdale Fell run 2009
Any idea when this is likely to be taking place?
Also what would be good races to enter prior to this as part of training for it?
Thanks.
-
Re: Borrowdale Fell run 2009
It will be the beginning of August probably. As for fell races before, I'd recommend the 3 Shires (September?), the Langdale Horseshoe (October?), the Full Tour Of Pendle (November) and Edale (next March). Oh and the 3 Peaks next April if you can get in. Almost certainly you will need to have run a couple of races like that to be accepted for the race.
I'd also recommend going up Great Gable and running like a lunatic down to Honiston a few times.

Re: Borrowdale Number Wanted!
I'm another who did not get an entry. On holiday at the vital time. Did Borrowdale Lite last year but would like the full experience (I think!?!). I'll be on holiday in the Lakes at the time so it would be a shame not to run. Does anyone know of any unwanted entries?
-
Re: Borrowdale Number Wanted!
spare entries seem like hens teeth, few and far between (as me granda used to say)
-
Re: Borrowdale Number Wanted!
What are the camping arrangements for Borrowdale?
-
Re: Borrowdale Number Wanted!
Don't know about others but for me it is Honister Hause YHA, a good kip and a big breakfast before IT begins...
Or there is a chance my sister and brother inlaw will be over in their monster camper van so we might all be in this somewhere, which would be much more fun and allow some post race partying.

There is the Chapel Stile camp site a little further on from Rosthwaite but also the fields behind the start and in fact the start field also were open for camping. I'm assuming it will be the same this year??
Are you planning on arriving friday or saturday? It was signposted last year for the field near the start but from when I don't know as we arrived on the friday and went further up to the chapel stile site
