Of course, I just have to get down to Sheffield late Saturday night then into the valley now!
sounds like some compression bungy cord is required for that 25L sack!
good luck with the journey there and the race - to you and everyone racing. there's an outside chance I might get to Mam Nick/Rushup after the dark&white mini mm btu that depends on weather and car sharing etc.

I hope to put a notice about kit requirements at the race car park, but the FRA marquee will be up in the playing fields next to the hall , this can be used for changing and kit storage.
in view of the forecast I will not be penalising people who don't turn up. If people don't want to race in the likely conditions its better all-round if they don't.
Some of the earlier notes mentioned that runners must be prepared to carry a Mini survival bag or Bothy bag, but this isn't in the Final Race Instructions. With the weather forecast looking "interesting", is there a possibility that this will be a late addition to the required kit come Sunday morning?
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
any thing is possible but looking at the forecast I know that I'll have one with me! it just makes sense.
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Do Pete Bland sell them? My Dad should be bringing me one but they are heading up from the West Mids on Sunday morning so don't want to get stuck if they are required...
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
It seems they do -

I have one and although expensive they do pack down very small. I also have a 'Space jacket' which I may carry as well, its basically a space blanket shaped like a jacket so you can wear it under your waterproof top. Packs down very small, made by Lifesystems and about £10 from most outdoor shops.
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Thanks Ian, like to have my pack sorted a day or two in advance, so I'll put in the survival bag. Better safe than sorry :-)

You can buy one from Pete Bland and ask him to bring it to Edale so you can pick it up on the day.
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Cheers guys, don't want to risk making it to Edale and failing the fearsome IDP kit check! ;)

what me I'm a pussy cat..........But Pertex isn't waterproof so don't try and convince me otherwise... ;)
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
I've been running all winter carrying full kit including bivvy bag and medi kit plus a lightweight down jacket which I've actually had to use on a particularly cold extended run of the Three Peaks. At least carrying a rucksack won't come as a shock on Sunday, I'm definitely used to it by now! :)
