First of the Dartmoor Runners "Summer Series" at Hexworthy.
10 miles or so navigating to four points (tor top, leat feature, mine shaft, wall corner) as a time trial.
Nice mix of runnable stuff and hideous tussocks. Only ended up waist deep in a bog once, so that was nice.
Most fun I've had for £1 in ages.
11.5 miles yesterday on the road in the hail and sleet!
Was lurvely!!!! :(
Longest run in AGES and felt ok, bar being frozen!
Looks like a beautiful day in sunny Bolton.
Bit of shopping, then straight up Winter Hill i think.:)
lot better than yesterday!
*green*
Sunday 21st - Gorgeously cold and nasty run over the Carneddau - kind of run that keeps you honest and reminds you that you really are at the mercy of the elements no matter how fit you feel...
Started at Aber, run up Moel Wnion, up to Drosgl and then decended into the valley before climbing stright up Yr Elen into the hail (stung the legs) and snow above 3000'. INto the clag onto Carnedd Llewellyn and then north over Foel Grach (quick stop in hut for food) and Carnedd Uchaf before swinging right on a bearing to Foel Fras (path hidden under snow for a time). Down over Drum (out of the clag) and over the three bumps (Yr Orsedd being one of them, a lovely diversion off the main track) into Aber.
Very cold but excellent day - 16M and 5300' ascent in 4 hours. Needed to navigate and got pinned down for 15 mins by a terrible hailstorm on Yr Elen which thankfully passed. Feel quite spritely today, which is a surprise after also racing in a XC on Saturday.
Looking forward to running BGR leg 2 on Friday with Chesterblue (you still up for it mate?)
ST
25 miles on me bike
and a 6 mile on the fell up to Stoodley pike
great morning nice and sunny :)
7 miles yesterday round rivington pike, felt out of it, murky tootled along and straight past me... she managed to get back to the car 10 minutes before me..
8 miles today
bout 1100ft total climb felt slightly more stronger until i decided to go a bit quicker downhill and misjudged a small snow drift.. waist deep in snow and laughing me ed off :D
Great run in the snow. Two hours from the Dog & Partridge at Bridgemont past Kettleshulme over to Lyme Park and back over Whaley Moor. Lyme Park is closed until further notice due to extensive damage caused by the recent gales. Felt much warmer in the sunshine even though it was actually a lot colder than recently. Much better than rain. The Kinder Trial would have been interesting if it had been held today. From where I was the whole of that area seemed to be covered in snow.
54 lengths (1 mile) of the 33 yard pool at Middleton.
1/2 mile freestyle
1/2 mile breast-stroke.
The pool wasn't too busy and i swam pretty much unhindered. Enjoyed the stint.:)
