Yes, that's where it usually is. Fingers crossed for you all that it is again this year!

It's not a race but is great fun with cakes and buns on the way round. I ran most of it last week and there was no mud, just ice and snow. There is no easy way up the Chevin. It's worth doing a recce of the moors and the Chevin just to let you know what you're in for. Oh and it's about 22. Good luck!
Donkey - plenty of mud up there just now! I was up there the other night, near the aerials/stone circle and I was slipping, sliding and sinking up to me knees in places.
Yep Ditto that ! we ran the whole route on Sunday and across the top was a big bog ! up to the knees once or twice...shoes off ect !...On the checkpoint list some places are marked refreshments, are they also checkpoints or just refreshments ?.....and i still havnt found that one on the Chevin marked "Above stile" 195 443
The places marked refreshments are also checkpoints.
The 'Above stile' checkpoint isn't near a stile but is placed on the climb up the Chevin from Otley just before you enter the wood. It is usually a self clip on a wooden stake. You'll have to go past in on the day so it will be easy to find.
Ok..thanks for the info !
...and today up there? Frozen solid - didn't even get me shoes wet! Absolutely beee-yoo-tiful day for it. Lovely and sunny on the top, calm, blue sky and looking down to a cloud-shrouded Ilkley. Marvellous.
Anyone know much about the wolf that's appeared above Silsden? Nice to see.
Not seen a Wolf !....hope the weather is same on the day then...no snow mind !
It's a big wicker style sculpture of a wolf that appeared about a fortnight ago, fixed onto a rocky outcrop looking down over Silsden/Addingham at the Windgate Nick end of the moor. Dunno who put it up, or how long it'll stay there, but it's quite impressive as a bit of temporary moor 'art'...
