Yes, I forgot to mention that the stretch from Rocky Valley to Burley CAN be tricky, especially in mist. People have been known to go horribly wrong. Muddy Retriever is right to draw attention to the Ilkley/Burley part of the second half.

I second that TF. I know those moors like the back of my hand. However, the clag was well & truly down last year & me & Toni went wrong between Ilkley & The Pancake Stone.

Trouble is with the moor you don't realise how much you rely on the horizon as a guide, if the clag's down everything looks the same and the distances all seem distorted. It can be very confusing.

Your right Rob. There were no visible landmarks last year. 12 Apostles, White Wells, Cow & Calf, all wrapped in clag !

Craig, if I remember rightly, isn't that the one at the end of the path that runs alongside the Household Waste site just after you've crossed the road ?

Just looked at the map Craig. It's a little further on that path following the A65 road crossing. It says "Woodlands Farm" on the map. Hope this helps.

Whereabouts is the self clip at Coldstone Beck - where the moor edge track crosses it, or further back (due south, I suppose), from the road?

I nearly missed it last year. It was hanging on a post after you've climbed back up from crossing the beck, just after the path forks and heads off for Burley Woodhead.
