are you on the mend then Philip?
I'm doing OCR too, so we could have a Fell Ponies Team out! :w00t:

when is the Old Crown Round? I might pop down and have a pint! Bit irratating living 10 minutes away yet not even knowing about it until I read the thread here! Make sure you all try the Tsarry Tsarry Knight!! :)
27th July. See:

4 Ponies and counting....
That's the weekend of the Lakeland 100!
About time we had a Ponies post...
Fell Ponies are still abroad, literally.
My son-in-law, Flandrin the Flying Frenchman, wore his purple Pony vest today and completed a 50k mountain trail race in Luxembourg. His first ever ultra, and a UTMB point. As a result of an apprenticeship served on the Pennine fells, he insisted on fuelling his effort with Jelly Babies, which he had to import specifically for the purpose.
Well done, that man!
Great post Tussockface. Love the JB story
I like it, TF.
A Fell Pony was seen in San Diego today and there will be photographic evidence!
We are such a rare breed its a joy and a privilege to see another Pony, but do not think for one second we are a dying breed, a new pony is about to join this FRA forum and has vowed to complete the Bob Campbell Round thingy next year.
one pony completed over 54 races this year and only a damaged fetlock prevented it completing more.
Another Pony has been promoted to a high position within Health and Safety
and another Pony has or is about to have an article printed in a leading Mag
Early ponies are very busy with various music careers, so will not lower themselves to such tedious things like web sites.
And on a final note a few have been put in prison--- Various offences---- but all plainly guilty
And on a final note a few have been put in prison
The rest just haven't been caught yet!
You'll never take me alive coppers!
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing your smiling face and reading your article in Fellrunner and absolutely in awe of your achievements this year Steve! (Amex)
And to think you were told you would never run again! I have not dared brave Three Shires since that day, then amazed to read it was your 50th race! Wow, braveheart you are. Huge well done fella. Awesome! xxx
Well done Amex and a great article too. Hopefully see yopu for the XOTF run
Who do i have to contact to get a Ponies vest? It's an xmas pressie for a lady runner. I've tried ringing our glorious unsung hero but some american bloke picked up the phone and told me Brett wasn't there
I won't be able to don my pony vest till probably February 2014 but it will return
You have a PM, Steve. xx
I need to buy a couple more Pony vests, but would need them posting - what's the process and is there a turquoise one (ladies medium)?
Cheers Ady, looking forward to hearing from a rejuvenated Amex - or as they say in racing circles, "goes well fresh" ;-D
Thank you Amex, I'm looking to augment my Fell Pony vest collection (I last bought one in 2007 - they certainly last!) with the purchase of 2 ladies medium and also 1 men's medium in order to keep my OH happy. The men's vest can be black, but what colours do you have for female vests? Also, how do I get the cash to you - I'll need the vests posting? Thanks in advance. PS - loved the Fellrunner article.
Great Pony pic Daz
Well Done that Pony

Thanks Steve! :)
yeah... I'm going to put more details on the 10 Peaks thread, but basically... I had a really good day - far and away my best result ever
possibly may've had something to do with the amount of training I've put in over the past few months
I trust we've all spotted this piccy on the WFRA site:

Ponies leading the way
I didn't actually take the photo (wish I had) but just came across it on the WFRA homepage
anyway MG, what are you up to these days? any big events planned?
I'm doing 3 Shires, Langdale, then turning attention to next year probably The Hebden in Jan. and looking for team-mates for Four Inns (21st March), plus I can heartily recommend Lakes Mountain 42... ;)
Hey Daz, have done quite a bit this year, did L100 in July. Im booked in for TdH in December but currently have a poorly Achilles so hope to be back fit in time for that. Otherwise see you at The Hebden again. Shall I have a look at the Four Inns?! Long time since I wore my Pony vest!!! :D
Four Inns is my second-favourite race route (after Bullock Smithy) and it would be great if we could get a Fell Ponies Team together for it - we need 3 or 4 people
ANY OTHER TAKERS...?
Not all fell Ponies are dead
Some are just resting poorly hooves!
I'm thinking of joining Tinto Hill Runners
