Nice and easy 5k run last night up Parsons Lane, going for 6 * 1k reps today
Great 20 miler from Ilkley, over to Burley, on to Baildon, back over to Ilkley & Rombalds Moor & Addingham Moorside & back down to Ilkley. Marred only by an ignorant, snooty old bag shouting at me to "walk !", followed by "can't you walk ?". Needless to say she got both barrels.
Lovely run out last night on muddy trails around the back of Swinsty reservoir with enough hills to be entertaining, I thought I knew my way around thereabouts ..... I was wrong, some entirely new territory, about 9 miles covered. Mile swim at Early Birds this morning, halloween head-torcher tonight with club!! Lovely.

Managed to sneak out for 5ml / 1000ft up and down Beamsley Beacon and get home without needing a headtorch
A nice 11.3 mile from snake top to Sandy Heys Trig and down towards Edale, for no particular reason. Good bog trot out with OB1.
Nice & easy 8km along the Dalesway from Addingham towards Bolton Bridge and back
Steady run over to Round Hill via Beamsley on Saturday about 16km very windy and raining
17 mile loop from Rivington to White Coppice, over Great Hill and then back along the other side of Belmont Rd, through Belmont up to the mast and pike and finish. Really nice, 2,200ft. First time running with a rucksack rather then waist bag. TNF Enduro 13. Excellent. No bouncing, water bottles usable on the move.
howgills this am misty n windy
wansfell this pm no mist prob due to lack of height breezy
Nice 'n' easy 10k to try and undo all kinds of knots and niggles left over from a day's labour with local tree surgeon (am treating the labour as 9 hr strength training session which I got paid for! Now that's what I call winning!)
Having talked nowt but hills for last week or so, chose my flattest route - only 1200ft ascending - in an effort to be nice to myself!
Wild, wet and windy - my favourite kind of weather: more or less guarantees I've got the place to myself
17k around Kendal, over the Helm and round to Scout Scar... feeling pretty trashed after a few hours round Dovedale and Caudale Moor on Saturday. Lots of time fannying around with the map trying to stick to poorly signed footpaths through farmers' fields and my first chasing from some cows. They're suprisingly brisk once they get going.
A nice 6 miler up and down Wessenden Valley. Will have to take headtorch next time! 940 ft up and downs in 57 mins.
Speedwork today, 12 * 500m reps at 6% faster than my 10k pace, good workout.
Club run last night 10k, good run
6.5m 1220ft Monday, solo headtorch on the local hill. First time I've ever seen anyone up there at night when I bumped into an MTB'er. Proper fun little run out.
6.3m 1600ft Club run last night
Already looking forward to a long run out in the Highlands this weekend. So many hills so little time!!
Need to start puting my training back on here it's good to look back, so here go's-
Mon- 13.54 mile, 1,626 climb, to Pendle and back on road/trail
Tue- 7.5 mile, 650 climb, Burnley lions 10k loop in Colne then back home!
So far so good, may go out with headtorch on tonight. :)
5 mile 800ft round ogden golf club area on my way home from work. Never run that area before so had to do a bit of map reading and really enjoyed it.
5k on the treadmill last night...my first proper run for a long time...maybe Long Mynd last time I felt good. Things looking up again
Today's training has consisted of a really really slow run of 5.5m. Slow because I am dogsitting a small, slightly smelly (but lovable) border terrier who likes to sniff and pee every couple yards...oh, and I stopped to watch a kingfisher.
Last night's speed training wasn't so great either mainly because I was not speedy:D:o
Early stack this morning so went out through Masham to Gollinglith Foot. From there went up the ridge onto Masham Moor into Nidderdale to Ouster Bank then did my best with a Landranger map to find my way back :)
A great club trog last night up the Porter Valley and down the Limb Valley. Got up close and personal with a badger at the end which made the 8 mile effort/second half intervals well worth it
Tonight, hill sprints.
6m road run with the head torch 1st road run in 8yrs boring boring boring thought i would of done it under 40 mins took 43.30
might try again in another 8 yrs!
My 1st night road run, 10k but did not enjoy.
12 miles around the first third of the Marsden Edale route. Great fun, 2200 feet up and down in 2:15. Met three hardy souls on their way down to Barber Booth from Marsden. I can't think of a finer way to cash in your weekend fun voucher!
Long run out from Middlesmoor in Nidderdale, up How Stean Beck on Riggs Moor to Sandy Gate, along the boundary to Blake Hill then Great Whernside, along to Little Whernside before dropping off to Sca House Res, then back over the tops on the Nidderdale way back to Middlesmoor.
Very wet and boggy, but nice views none the less, took just short of 4 hours, but had to get the map out a few times to find elusive trods! :)
Sounds a great 'un Hirsty !
13 miles for me around the moors of Burley-In-Wharfedale, Ilkley, Addingham Moorside, High Plantation & Rombalds before, reluctantly, dropping back down to Burley for lunch with the in-laws. Steady away in 1.50. Boggy brilliance.
Arncliffe, Monk's Road, Malham Tarn, Fountains Fell, traverse of PyG, longer way down to Horton.
Charming, all the way.
Nice to see the shale path on Fountains is turning green as the grass grows back through.
And a pint of tea and hot buttered crumpets in the PyG cafe when I caught up with the Mrs who had been for a walk.
Been suffering with a heavy cold all week, no running since Great Whernside. Got out this aft down along the Ribble to Stainforth Foss, up to Little Stainforth, Smearsett and Pot Scar, and back via Feizor, Buchaw Brow and Giggleswick Quarry. The weather was superb, clear as a bell, and a joy to be back out running.
No idea of precise distance but 1hr 40.
Had a totally gorgeous run from Ribblehead up Whernside and back. It was the first time this year that I have had a clear view (well, there might have been one on the race but I was too busy trying not to get blown over to notice). Great company, sun on my face and feeling the strongest that I've felt since I sprained my ankle in July.
7.30 am from patterdale up st sundays crag over cofa pike to fairfeild onto great rigg and back down ridge returning to patterdale (horseshoe) perfect blue bird day 9m 2800ft
PERFECT.
Saturday 5k steady run and today went round Wadsworth Half sunshine all the way brill
7m with around 2200/2300m ascent/descent ,might sound alot of height for outskirts of doncaster ,its actually a set of steps 22/23m high did 100 reps talk about mind numbing, all aiming toward tankys trog then just found out its been cancelled, ah well
Cheers Rodders, Im on it
Thick end of 10 miles, 450m climb and 90 mins from Hutton Village, just 3 of us tonight. Muddy in the woods but very nice out on the moor. Took in all 3 Guisbrough tops in the correct order but with varying routes. Cracking.
Club run last night 10k steady run, getting ready for the Wadswoth
12m today, work and back with heavy rucsac.
just a nice easy 6km with 2km in my XC spikes trying to get used to them. Followed by poker...
