A svelte 157 lbs for the old Alfer this time around
I've lost a pound and seem to be down to 64kg it was a week in Scotland that did it, on the Scottish diet, of no fruit and plenty of chips!!!!
Finally dipped under 80kg :D which feels a lot better than the 90+ of a year or two ago!
79.9kg this morning.
168lb
Holiday over, weight gain taken on the chin.
Now we start again on the run up to The Ben.
78.0kg today and back down to 32" waist jeans. Still about 19% body fat so may adjust my target to 70kg.
finally 2lb off, 148lb was originally 150lb, went up to 154lb with no running, managed to loose some, still not running but at least the weight is staying off..
I wonder if 'Fatberg' will be joining the thread?
77.7kg - nearly reached my original target. :)
Only briefly, I'm very busy y'knowQuote:

165lb Please with 3lb drop in 2 week, must keep it going for the next 4 week.
Goal is to go sub 160lb before the Ben and in the 2.30's for the race.
154 lbs - Probably down to Borrowdale. I will no doubt put on a couple of pounds in the next week or so.
I am still the same 64kg am not running for a month in a bid to get my foot better, six months on and no change so had to give up running to see if it helps. Am trying to keep to under 1000 cals a day to keep weight in check, as swimming and cycling just does not cut it.
I have not posted on this for a while in part due to gutting the bathroom. I am in the process of rebuilding it and the scales were buried in the spare room. I got them out the begining of this week and found I was 10:13lb, I knew I had lost a bit during my BG trainnig but was surprised to see sub 11 stone. I have just got to hold it there during my tapering for the next 2 weeks.

I havent posted because I have put weight on and am embarressed. I do have an excuse in that I am unjured and have had to stop running and nothing else seems to do the trick in terms of keeping my weight off. Up to 65kg, going to bury myself in a corner and weep
160lb this morning.
Pleased as punch with The Ben next week.
I also haven't posted my weight in a long time. Not been focused this year. Too many other things on my mind. WEight has stayed the same though so that's not soooo bad I guess!
Yeah, still not really running, but back to 64kg.
Back on 154 lbs (or 11 stone as we say in the trade  )
75.3kg :D
That means I've now lost 3 stone from my heaviest ever weight!
I daren't go on the scales because I've been in holiday for two weeks and despite running every day, I ate and drank far too much (but it was so nice :) ) and now my angular bits have smoothed out  Now my mum is up with her boyfriend and I've been cooking hearty meals so next week I'm going back on a diet...I won't even weigh myself until I know I'm getting back on track:o
I've just had a scan through this thread, so many fit/lightweight people! :o
I'm a pretty big guy, at my worst I've been 131Kg, at my lightest I was around 83Kg (I had a job which meant I was on my feet most of the day and was mountain biking about 10 hours a week then).
Currently I'm 116Kg - and trying to get back down to mid 80's again, it's considerably harder than when I was a lot more active. I commute 2hrs a day and sit in an office now. I used to be mainly a mountain biker but took up running 2 years ago, I started with C25K and have done 3 half marathons and a handful of 10K's, I've done the Fan Dance race in Brecon a couple of times (slowly - it's much harder when you weigh 50Kg more than some of the field).
I'm aiming to build my mileage up as my weight comes off, I got this a little wrong in the spring when I had a bad bout of PF in my left foot from overuse after ramping the daily mileage up significantly over too short a time. This is pretty much gone now after steroids, a couple of months off running and lots of massage. I'm back doing a gentle 5K trail loop every other day now, and I did the Fan Dance route last monday (mostly walking with a bit of slow trotting) without aggravating anything.
Hopefully I'm back on track again with my weight moving downwards and my mileage moving upwards, I'll update from time to time. :)
Edit: I should also add that I've joined this forum after pretty much ditching road running and focussing mostly on off road, trails mostly and mountains as often as I'm able to drive to some.
Welcome to the forum Vamp
I wouldn't worry too much about the lightweights on here as they are usually all neurotic worriers who run themselves into the ground and forget to eat.
errrrr or is that just me? http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps6b6aa70e.gif
Target achieved for the Ben weekend 160.2lb sub 11st 7lb.
Welcome Vamp.
The 5:2 diet has worked a treat for me dropping 30lb over 12 months.
Your weight will drop as the running picks up, just go steady though and factor in rest periods. I like a steady week every 4th week.
Don't forget cross training as well loads on here will bike regular to save the legs a bit.
All the best Stagger.
I now weigh exactly what I did when I first posted my weight.
I am simultaneously, relieved, appalled, and embarrassed at how much weight I've lost in the last month.
But I'm definitely climbing better than a month ago.
Thanks Stagger, I'll give the 5:2 diet a try. I have a mountain bike, though I prefer running by far, I'll try and mix in some cross training as well.
About 12 years ago I went from 21st to 13st in about 9 months, mainly by fasting 'most' days and mountain biking 'most' days, it worked (in that I lost weight fast and got really fit), but I felt awful and blacked out twice while out mountain biking. So probably wasn't the cleverest strategy.
Cheers for the advice and tips. :)
I bought Michael Moseley's book (the fast diet) on my Kindle earlier, so will start reading it this evening. :)
Edit: For those who have done an IF diet like 5:2, how do you personally organise your fast days with respect to training?
Both fast days together or separated? And presumably light/no training on fast days?
I'm off up to Brecon on Sunday so will likely not pick that day as a fast day, according to my Suunto I used 3800 calories last time I was there... :o
Anyone doing or done 80-10-10?
I have dabbled and found it very energising.
80% carbs 10% fat 10% protein.
Looks like the opposite of fasting, and seems to keep the weight off.
Although I dont struggle with overweight I have to keep what I have!
Not bothered with this thread lately as basically I'm about 12st 7lb in winter then if I get some training/races in I can get to 12st. It'd be a struggle to get lighter and I'd look like Skeletor!! So I'm now happyish where I am!
Still 132.5 - nothing more to report :)
Another update. I was 116Kg a couple of weeks ago, and was 112.9Kg this morning. :)
I didn't do the 5:2 diet, but what I did do was pay a South African sports nutrition guy to prepare me a Paleo eating plan which follows Tim Noakes Low Carb High Fat (LCHF) diet advice.
I've been following this for 8 days now and and dropped just over 3Kg in that time, I don't feel hungry, and my appetite is getting less so I've not been tempted to snack at all. Seems to be working well for me, I've been testing my blood glucose regularly and it's been pretty stable around 5.0mmol/L all of the time.
Hopefully I can keep it going.
I haven't weighed since my holiday but am now eating more healthily and drinking less alcohol so I can feel that I'm getting back to my usual weight. I've had some good performances in races but stood at the startline of Edale Skyline, I was aware that I'm not the whippet that most of the women there were! I'm going to return to myfitnesspal.com and start tracking what I eat again with the hope of losing a couple pounds to become a better running weight. My main aim is to help my knees a bit on the descents but generally I feel positive about my weight and am not feeling obsessed which is has always been my worry when considering taking part in this thread.
