11.30am
Ive burnt the bloody flap-jacks.:(
I'll still bring them, just have to hope they some how find some moisture during the night.
Bound to have jinxed everythiing but the weather doesnt look too bad (80 or so miles away from the start)
Ive got all my stuff packed and all i need now is to somehow marshal, take a few photos and dish out my flatjacks all at the same time.:D
Weather forecast looking gooooood!
Looking forward to this race looking just to get round after yesterdays 40mile bike ride!!
Lets hope the weather is kind, one hell of a race on a nice day!!
Every weather forcast ive seen has been different, i shall not be removing any layers from my over-full bag!
Glorious morning in Carlisle (about 20m away) - not a cloud in the sky.
It's gonna be a cracking day to be on't tops.
Give us a shout Al - red vest, blond hair possibly under a red bandana, shades, goatee, backpack.
Robinson is the one after Helvellyn isnt it? Hopefully not too knackered to say hiya after climbing Skiddaw - now then, where did i put the race map?
Just had far too big a breakfast. Can't possibly run now. Any room for anymore marshalls;););)
Nice to see everyone:)
What a cracking day, bald patch has gone red:o
Morgan Donnally for the lads
Olly Walwyn for the Ladies
Looks like I'm first back!
That was fantastic up there today. The AW last year was my first Lakeland Fell Race and this year was my second.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and whats more, Mrs WP had a first fell race over 5 miles - longest previously was Bleasdale last month.
Even on the road she's only done a 10 miler.
I'll have to watch my back - she was stalking me today:eek: - she did remarkably well.
Thanks to everyone. A better day for the marshalls up top than last year - views amazing!
2nd back matey, read the post above. I did give you a shout as you passed but you were fully focased.
Well done today.
Wow, blimey, and other superlatives - what a route, what weather, what views. Possibly the best race i have ran.
Determined to take it easy today, I started at the back and concentrated on enjoying it rather than flogging myself around. Quite a few minor route variances noticed - not only after Dale head but on the initial climb to Robinson and also the final descent.
Today won't be the last time i do this race.
(never saw Al Fowler though) (what does a Preston hat look like?)
On way home we went to Armathwaite Hall for afternoon tea - quite posh - not really the place to go with mud caked legs.
some picies from dale head here:

If anyone see Daz H ask him what time it is.
Oh it made it a cripple hat-trick, me with a bad knee, Emm with a bad calf (swoop will be in on that one) and Daz with a limp wrist, sorry broken wrist.
great race today fantastic race i thought ricky lightfoot would of won but he set off very fast. when i was in my race morgan donnely just took me on the descent when i was coming down off the u16s course he was flying
Fabulous race and fabulous weather. Unfortunately though, despite being fitter, better at the climbs and faster..... I ran the race 1 minute slower than last year .
Mind you with that wind last year, I would've got a wind assist all along the final ridge to Catbells.
Excellent photos Ian, thank you. What a beautiful place!
Fantastic day out. Huge thank you to Wynn and team for putting it on, including organising the perfect weather. It was magic being out there today.:):):):)
Top photos, looked like a really good day. Just come back from 13miles on the road, ran, FLM is creeping up too fast, can't wait......
first time for me today
thanks to Wynne and all the marshalls and organisers for doing such a great job.
and how did they organise such great weather
def coming back to crawl round this one next year
Everything everyone else said. Weather made it for me... and homemade cake stall too. Its one of those races that I'll defo do again, inshalla!
Thanks for saying hello trossachs, sorry to hear about your calf emmi, I did wonder why I couldnt see you when I was checking my rear coming off catbells.... and Dazs watch too, thats bad luck Daz.
Didn't run this year due to having a very new baby in our family but my 7 year old ran in the U8's and really enjoyed it. Thanks to Dan for organising them all (i.e. making sure they remembered it was two laps and which side of the flags to run round).
Fantastic atmosphere, organisation and weather. Thanks Wynn and Steve.
Fantastic day out today, great weather, great support, stunning scenery, free hot pot and free BEER...brilliant!!!
Noticed the winner, Morgan Donnelly cycled to the race, won the race and then cycled at a fair old lick on his way back after the race...unbelievable!!!
