Looks like I'm first back!
That was fantastic up there today. The AW last year was my first Lakeland Fell Race and this year was my second.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and whats more, Mrs WP had a first fell race over 5 miles - longest previously was Bleasdale last month.
Even on the road she's only done a 10 miler.
I'll have to watch my back - she was stalking me today- she did remarkably well.
Thanks to everyone. A better day for the marshalls up top than last year - views amazing!
2nd back matey, read the post above. I did give you a shout as you passed but you were fully focased.
Well done today.
Wow, blimey, and other superlatives - what a route, what weather, what views. Possibly the best race i have ran.
Determined to take it easy today, I started at the back and concentrated on enjoying it rather than flogging myself around. Quite a few minor route variances noticed - not only after Dale head but on the initial climb to Robinson and also the final descent.
Today won't be the last time i do this race.
(never saw Al Fowler though) (what does a Preston hat look like?)
On way home we went to Armathwaite Hall for afternoon tea - quite posh - not really the place to go with mud caked legs.

If anyone see Daz H ask him what time it is.
Oh it made it a cripple hat-trick, me with a bad knee, Emm with a bad calf (swoop will be in on that one) and Daz with a limp wrist, sorry broken wrist.
great race today fantastic race i thought ricky lightfoot would of won but he set off very fast. when i was in my race morgan donnely just took me on the descent when i was coming down off the u16s course he was flying
Fabulous race and fabulous weather. Unfortunately though, despite being fitter, better at the climbs and faster..... I ran the race 1 minute slower than last year.
Mind you with that wind last year, I would've got a wind assist all along the final ridge to Catbells.
