Looked on Metcheck weather for skipton looks good for Saturday 80% cloud between 10 and 15 degrees very little chance of rain winds of 10 mph gusting to 12. That means is going to pee it down all day and be mega windy.

I'm taking my generic (i.e. cheap!) camel-back-type thingy and stuffing in a hooded kagool jacket plus waterproof trousers. Not the smallest bundle, but you never know....
Hate to be turned away cos the kit isn't complete!
The ones that pack to the size of an apple are the windproof montane featherlites (I am sure others do but theirs is the one with the advert).
They are termed water repellant but are by no means waterproof. If you have not got one they are great bits of clothing but would not and should not pass the kit check for a waterproof.
I will have a waterproof montane one but if the weather is rubbish I will set off in my windproof and keep the waterproof in the bag. I know this means I carry an extra 100g  but I prefer running in the windproof.
Hope this helps?
The weather forecast for BD24 (Settle and surrounds) for Saturday is broken sunshine from 10 am until 12:59 turning to rain at exactly 1 o'clock. I won't have nearly finished by 1 pm :(
I'll be standing at the back...which means it will take even longer to get started and add even more time onto PYG! Will be ecstatic just to finish without being timed out! No.902...there's no one behind me!
I'll be at the 4.5 hour start mark as well, that would be my ideal time. In reality my time will depend on whether I blow up on Ingleborough!
Wycoller going up Ingleborough

Watch it - CL will be asking for him to be tested for EPO!
I just got my email formally confirming my race number. On the day we have to tell them our number and show some form of identity at registration. Presumably a photo driving licence will do?
i read somewhere theres suppose to be showers, is this right? cant imagine theyd be a pretty sight after 900 runners going through them.
Looks like folk back home can track our progress in 'real time' on Saturday :) :

Anyone staying over on Saturday night ??
Our itinery is arrive Horton,Holme Farm about 5pm Fri, erect tent etc. then a nice leisurely walk along the river down to Helwith Bridge, consume no more than 2 pints of Guinness in the pub there. Walk back and then dinner in one of the pubs in Horton accompanied by a glass of lemonade.
After the race, presentations, hog roast etc have a sleep in the tent and then go on a mad pub crawl around the 2 pubs in Horton !!
Any other forumites up for it ??:D
Howdy...First time doing the 3 Peaks but wondered based on previous kit checks how strict they are...will a windproof suffice or does it need to be waterproof ?
In my experience its been very relaxed in other events....just looked at the 3 Peaks gallery...how do they get it all in those tiny bumbags !!!:-)
You will spot me easily enough MG, I'll be the one with the rhino head on ( like those chaps in the London Marathon ) or failing that I will have my Leeds rugby shirt on .
Got an email confirming entry details. The number isn't actually attached to the email. You have to look up your name and number on the entry list attached.
Anyone got a decent map of the course (electronic version) they could stick on here, I know the course will be flagged but I want to see the course before so I can prepare for the mental anguish to come.

I see that the weather prognosis for Friday and Saturday is not the best, rain is forecast. Still, early days, as it's some time off yet but reading the threads suggests that it will be heavy going underfoot as the ground is saturated.
Galoshes anyone? :D
nice one thanks for the map
Got to admit I'm getting very excited now about PPP after entering during the online 'feeding frenzy', then not giving it much thought until very recently. I've got a feeling I'm going to enjoy it (and anyone who sees me dragging my sorry cramp-ridden body up Ingleborough on Saturday lunchtime can remind me I said that too!). Roll on Saturday!!
