    Re: Three Peaks 2008

Anyone staying over on Saturday night ??

Our itinery is arrive Horton,Holme Farm about 5pm Fri, erect tent etc. then a nice leisurely walk along the river down to Helwith Bridge, consume no more than 2 pints of Guinness in the pub there. Walk back and then dinner in one of the pubs in Horton accompanied by a glass of lemonade.
After the race, presentations, hog roast etc have a sleep in the tent and then go on a mad pub crawl around the 2 pubs in Horton !!

Any other forumites up for it ??

Howdy...First time doing the 3 Peaks but wondered based on previous kit checks how strict they are...will a windproof suffice or does it need to be waterproof ?

In my experience its been very relaxed in other events....just looked at the 3 Peaks gallery...how do they get it all in those tiny bumbags !!!:-)

    Fidaleo,
Read my other thread aptly named 'LIGHTWEIGHT WATERPROOF JACKET'
I hope it enlightens you more than it did me!
The rules do state windproof and waterproof though!

    Hi LR,

Myself and hubby will be at the campsite for the weekend and hoping to squeeze into the crown apres race. I think there'll be alot of us camping around us but no way of knowing the faces!

You will spot me easily enough MG, I'll be the one with the rhino head on ( like those chaps in the London Marathon ) or failing that I will have my Leeds rugby shirt on .

The army provided a mobile shower unit (big green tent) in the mid 1990s until budget cut backs brought that luxury to an end. It was better than you'd imagine, and great to hobble over there and get cleaned up.

See you all on the day.
