recce of the great lakes run from old dungeon ghyll, met 3 lads recceing for their bg rounds on the top of bowfell and ran a bit with em so did a couple of extra peaks, lll crag and broad crag and parted company on scarfell approx 14.5m and 7000ft+. good weather, good day!
11.5 miles and and just shy of 4500ft ascent, nice little run out.
Ibuprofen, rubbed some minty liniment stuff into my 'cheeks'...
17m/3000ft from Ripponden over to Bacup, crossing the border into Lancashire the weather went Pete Tong, normal for Lancs i suppose:closed:
Nice run up to Bare House and over Grassington moor this tea time did not see anyone absolutely brilliant.:D
Hour over Ilkley Moor this evening combining part of the Rombalds Stride route and the Ilkley Fell race route. Good bit of climbing and finished with a 7min/mile from the pancake stone all the way back along the ridge and down the face of the moor parallel to coldstone ghyll. Didn't see a soul
Intended to do the 3Ps today, but it's been a hard week so got the train (really - it costs £2.50) from Horton to Ribblehead and just did Whernside and Ingleborough instead. 14.5 miles, dunno about height gained, maybe 3,500-ish.
7 miles flat xc in driving wind and rain following a10 hour drinking session yesterday and a 5.30am start. Once the champagne started flowing it wouldn't stop ...
Been on my jollies, but have run 4-5 miles each day. Three nice runs up the local volcano, around the rim, down to the crater etc.
Very steady 14km last night, second half with headtorches. Took about 1 1/2 hours, but did spend most of the run talking. Just beat the nasty weather Back, don't think I'll be out tonight!
This morning a couple of us did the winter hill race route and unlike this years race it was very wet underfoot.....drought, not up winter hill.
90mins or so on Ilkley Moor this afternoon. Managed to avoid the worst of the rain but wet underfoot
Spent today eating cake, chocolate, pasties, and an imminent burger whilst dozing on the sofa. I call it "rest & recovery" :D
My preparation for the fellsman has somehow managed to have fallen on its feet and peaked nicely in the (slightly convoluted week) of 31st March to 6th April - 73.5 miles and 12,760 feet of climb from my garmin, including one 28 mile lap of the 3 peaks from Ingleton and another bog standard 22 miler from Horton. The 6th April was my eldest daughters birthday and she, for some inexcusable reason, hadn't been round the 3 peaks before so I forced her round as a birthday present :). She did an okay time though of 5 hours 46. And she even convinced my other rugby playing daughter to run up Ingleborough from Horton and back (a good 10 or so miles) to meet us. The von Stolly family fell runners :D
Saturday up Beamsley and yesterday up Parsons Lane with a 4 minute effort, still no problem with the calf, so I am feeling good and glad to be back at it.

6ml from and back to the Fleece in Haworth with club. Always one of my favourite nights of the year :thumbup:

4m 1000ft loughrigg wed pm, 6m 1200ft thur am local, calves r stuffed hope they will recover for coledale sat!

Not been to Mardale Head for a while so started there today. Up Long stile ridge (bit scrambly to be very runnable for a mere mortal like me), onto High Street,over Mardale Ill Bell, Harter fell and down to Gatesgarth. Was intending to run over Branstree and Selside Pike to the Old Corpse Road, but- a) it was really boggy and b) my hip was ok and didn't want to push my luck ahead of anniversary waltz next week. So instead just went up Branstree and ran back down again to Gatesgarth. About 8 mile/3100 ft. Cracking day for it too :D.
Got some very funny looks from walkers for doing my glute stretches on a picnic blanket by the car park afterwards. Can't blame them.
Really rather enjoyable trot round the local hill, 6m 1200ft

15 miles / 7000 ft over the Glyders and Carnedds yesterday, my legs are still aching like mad now...
Up the Gribin ridge and onto Glyder Fawr, then up Y Garn and down to Ogwen Cottage, straight up Pen yr Ole Wen and along the ridge over Dafydd and Llewellyn, finishing with Pen yr Helgi Du. Worst part of it, running back to my car along the A5!
