Monday, 6k up Parsons Lane near Addingham, nice green lane, policeman training his dog, though I might have to do some extra speedwork, BIG BIG DOG
6 Miles around the Wessenden Valley/Old PW. 1080ft of ups and downs in 1:01:30.
2 hours and 4000ft of hill reps. Etherow Country park up to the Glossop Rd
Felt quite sick afterwards. Think thats a good thing.
Quick 6 miles down the River Kent with the dog tonight. Nice run but calf feels bit tight after AW race at weekend.
8ml / 1400ft up and over the Beacon, to Round Hill and back. What a lovely night for a run out!
Legs a bit tight from the weekend and didn't feel up to intense hill session, so did a nice 7.5miles around the lanes and backwaters of Harrogate (Burn Bridge). Saw a rather excellent sunset .... ran harder than I thought I was going to as well!
Club run last night about 11k down into Esholt woods and over to Spring woods up to Hawksworth over the Odda and back into Nunroyd Park.
6 reps of Mt.Airey and 3 of Brantingham dale wall on Monday, about 1600ft+ asc/desc in 6.25m.
Tues - Easy 3.35m run around East Park and East Hull streets to get new ultra 12 pack sitting right.
12m bike to work and back, 2.5m run up Beacon Hill, like Stolly said on the Fellsman thread you can't beat getting muddy legs:thumbup:
Inov8 baregrips with no socks, cuts down on the sock washing;)
Coniston Old Man with the club tonight. Really wet and windy at the start but running up the ridge from Brim fell had one of those magic moments when the cloud just blows over and got the most amazing views towards Morecambe Bay. Wind stopped on the top too. Bizarre. Followed by a pint in the Sun Inn .
A run/paddle along the Dales Way to Burnsall and back which follows the river Wharfe, just to give you a idea how wet it was i came across this chap doing a bit of practice on his surf board:wink:http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=9YSPx4RpBuY
Same as last night. Cycle to work tomorrow will bring 61m/10000ft running/walking and 50m on singlespeed, hilly.
It was a club 10km road race tonight, first of the summer league, quite a hilly route for a road race. I managed a PB and came in first by 9 seconds, although some of the better club runners were injured or not there because of work etc. Still happy at that for the start of the season.:D

5 mile road run and weights in gym at work!!
Kentmere Horseshoe race route 11m 3000 ft. Had the whole route to myself. Was last night but the missus was hogging t'internet.
A little over 21 miles and 8200ft, I did not feel good. Todays training will consist of the sofa
9m on the tops above Ripponden, wind and rain were horrendous, respect to all Fellsmanners this weekend:thumbup:
Cracking run out yesterday from campsite at Boot up over Whin Rigg and Illgill Head (two new Wainwrights for me) and back via Burnmoor Tarn c10ml and 2500ft
Great run out today! BG Leg #2. 14.37 miles/5,575', couple of miles more than Bob Wightmans blog? I'm guessing he'll be right tho! 4hrs 28mins, so technically maybe a wee bit slow.
Stop Press: Not actually too bad when I re-read BW's schedules!! :)
Opposite end of the scale from the above post... 4x1mile reps. First time I've done them and first time I've done any flat reps for just over a year. Not pleasant, and 4 isn't even that many I don't imagine.
Interesting to see how fast you can run a mile though.
A necessary evil though :-/. Can't leave my house without a hill so I do all my reps/intervals/pace stuff on the Monsal Trail about 10mins drive away. Prob near 20mls end to end and back, flat, fast (not as fast as road but near enough), no stiles or gates, no roads to cross or traffic (cycles but its a good wide track so not a problem) great views if you look. :-) and I can concentrate on pace and style. I go on a week day when I have a gap between clients. Could be a bit busy at weekends.
My favourite training run each week though is the "run approx 1hr. As you feel". Out on the hills, all weathers, as I feel may even include a little dance step every now and then".
Hard morning on Kinder. Thick fog on the tops so started with a lap of the Mt Famine,South Head race route. Looked a bit better on the tops after that so up to Kinder Low via Edale cross and down into Edale. Crosssed the valley and up Mam Tor. Glorious views all round by now but a biting wind so quickly back down by Hollins Cross and back over Kinder to Hayfield via Jacobs Ladder and Kinder Low.
19 mile,5200 ft and feeling good.
6m to work 6m home, 2.5m with dog up favourite hill. 49m for this week on the back of two 60+m weeks, nice to be getting some consistent good mileage weeks done, trouble is food bill's gone up:o
Did 20 miles Friday, ran to the train station from home, then from station the other end to work and back home again, so not all in one,go but 20 in total with small rucksack. Lead a recc’y run on Saturday morning for a club hill race being held towards the end of the month, steady speed just over 11 miles with just under 3000ft of climbing, nice slow recovery run with the wife tonight of 5 miles. Total for last week was 49 miles, quite a big week for me; next week will be a quite one. Part of my 4 week rotating training plan of hard and easy weeks brought about because of the shifts I work.
