All the best to Toffer. Hope his recovery from now on is super speedy, and please tell him that Tonkins, Queenie and the gang have offered to keep him company on his first training session ;) (as long as it's a sunny day).

Ohhhhh a tortoise race :)
How's Toff Wheeze?
He was picking up yesterday and is hoping to get out on Friday. He has lost a lot of weight so he should trounce those naughty tortoises! At least he still has 2legs.
Good news...they let him out! He sounded positively perky on the phone yesterday. No chance of nicking those mavics now!;)
erm, hello, I'm back, well sort of....
Firstly thanks to all for their get well messages, even those laced with avaricious intent toward my mavics, walshes, bike etc I am in a forgiving and generous frame of mind at present and will stand you all a pint in a mid-Walian haunt in the summer.
Well that was not what I had in mind when I went into hospital at the end of feb.....now happily on the mend after 7 ops, a foot long hole in my leg open for about 2 weeks pouring pus from some unidentifiable flesh eating bug, I'll spare you the gorier details......hopefully its just get better now and put back on the 10kgs or so that I have mislaid somewhere along the way.
As for the rehab, prob about 6 weeks on crutches to start, then gradual increase in activity from there, perhaps back on the bike by about mid may, running I fear is a very long way off, so for any 2010 challenge suggest 2011 for anything serious, that is not to rule out some gentle adventures in the summer, watch this space.......:)
Good to have you back Toff :):)
Think we need to do a gentle pootle on the bike at some stage later in the summer then, before you ease yourself back into running... let's think about something that will still provide a fun challenge but is doable for our invalid. I am sure you have some time to think things up ;)
Glad to hear you are on the mend Toff. It all sounds a bit scary.
A skinny be-crutched individual answering to the name of Toffer was spotted today, lurking in the fields around the Pen Cerrig Calch race and, later, scoffing all the Creme Eggs that Spit had laid on as prizes!:D
I think its fair to say that the Steam Bunny Challenge for 2010 will be to walk unaided! So, stand your bike down Moley, t'will not be needed in combat for a while.
And if Toffer goes on scoffing creme eggs like that, the tortoises can prepare for victory:p
Welcome back to the land of the (almost) living Toff... sounds like a complete nightmare, hope you could feel the positive vibes fllowing off the forum in your general direction over the last few weeks.
As for a 2010 challenge....... watch this space.... I HAVE A PLAN!
Oh oh!
Whatever it is, I trust him not to include wheels, pedals or Toffers Mavics ( ).
Given that TOCTOWBB 2010 is now to be 2011 due to my well documented decrepitude I have been mulling over a little compensatory adventure(cunningly combined with a bit of recceing) for the end of June/early July. Out of necessity it will not be on the grand scale of TOCTOW etc however it will give a little flavour of what is to come. Two big bike days separated by a day in the hills, running for the fit, walking for the infirm. Entitled Moletrip 2010, this will give you a clue as to where we will be going, (ahem, he doesn't know this yet.......but he will soon:eek::D)
Look out corgettes!!:eek::)
Ahhh, I shall get my courgette recipes ready then... I am however planning on doing the Wels 12 hr time trial on 4 July, so please don't let it clash will you?
May well have courgettes on the menu by then, I shall have to work on a new recipe "Arran courgette" ;).
Glad to see that at least the catering is being provided for...
Toffer, I think you need to explain.....microscopic fly in the ointment and all that!
erm, thought I had.......
Boing!
I recently remembered about the unfortunate bug the commander in chief vice admiral fella ended up with, how is his recovery coming along please?
