All the best to Toffer. Hope his recovery from now on is super speedy, and please tell him that Tonkins, Queenie and the gang have offered to keep him company on his first training session (as long as it's a sunny day).

He was picking up yesterday and is hoping to get out on Friday. He has lost a lot of weight so he should trounce those naughty tortoises! At least he still has 2legs.

Good news...they let him out! He sounded positively perky on the phone yesterday. No chance of nicking those mavics now!

That news has made an otherwise rather dull and frustrating day at work a lot better

And... I already have a pair of those Mavics anyway, who needs two?

erm, hello, I'm back, well sort of....
Firstly thanks to all for their get well messages, even those laced with avaricious intent toward my mavics, walshes, bike etc I am in a forgiving and generous frame of mind at present and will stand you all a pint in a mid-Walian haunt in the summer.
Well that was not what I had in mind when I went into hospital at the end of feb.....now happily on the mend after 7 ops, a foot long hole in my leg open for about 2 weeks pouring pus from some unidentifiable flesh eating bug, I'll spare you the gorier details......hopefully its just get better now and put back on the 10kgs or so that I have mislaid somewhere along the way.
As for the rehab, prob about 6 weeks on crutches to start, then gradual increase in activity from there, perhaps back on the bike by about mid may, running I fear is a very long way off, so for any 2010 challenge suggest 2011 for anything serious, that is not to rule out some gentle adventures in the summer, watch this space.......

Good to have you back Toff

Think we need to do a gentle pootle on the bike at some stage later in the summer then, before you ease yourself back into running... let's think about something that will still provide a fun challenge but is doable for our invalid. I am sure you have some time to think things up
