Didn't see Tom.
I think he gets his training in April by running round his fields during lambing and he has a lot of fields to run round most with big hills in.
Enjoyed my annual run around the Coniston Fells - my 19th completion in the last 22 yrs - even managed to more or less equal my time of the first run, so quite happy with that.
A good turnout this year and weather was superb notwithstanding the c**p forecast.
Well done to Sam for keeping this classic race alive - I'll be back next year (and probably a few years after that)
Sorry to hear about your mishap goose fat. Hope you're on the mend soon.
Has anyone got a link to the results? The Coniston web site hasn't been updated yet.
Anyone got a link to the Coniston results ? :D
Many thanks,
Pete
They're still not up, but eventually they should be here http://www.conistonfellrace.org.uk/
Come on Sam, lets get the results up !!!
Patience Tomsk - remember the old days when you had to wait for weeks for the postman to deliver!!
Sam probably has more important things to do.
Results for 2008 now up at http://www.conistonfellrace.org.uk
Apologies for delay.
See other Coniston Fell race thread for results
Results are on the website now.
Sat 3rd May.
Anyone doing this, I know it clashes with the Stuc a'Chroin championship counter which is on the same day. Hopefully Coniston will still get a good turnout......
Anyone got any tips for route choice, or Nav? I hear that there's decisions to be made on the decent off the Old Man?
I'll be there this year.
Some info here :- http://www.conistonfellrace.org.uk/
Was up there at the bank holiday weekend. Had a look at the course, seemed ok from the Sun Inn beer garden, the pint of Golden Pippin wasn't bad either. :)
Ill be there, hoping the weathers ok so the descent is visible. looking forward to it though Stuc was a favourite when I was in scotland.

1 potato,2 potato, 3 potato ,4 + pasta = sub four hours [/quote]
Is that what you reckon PP ?
Good luck:)
Yeah, give or take a couple of minutes :p . He is pleased, I will have to wait a full year to wipe that smirk off his face . Set off very slow, probably too slow but at least I know for next time.
Dont really like porridge so I'll see if mapper will give me some soreen
Yep going to have a go at this i was 2.30 at Coledale am aiming for under 2.30 for this i know still slow but will get round somehow!
I've been looking at the route and it looks like a bit of a toughie!! That decent through the quarries will be interesting.
Hoping for about 1:30, nothing stunning.
Looking forward to this one not done it before, lets hope the legs can get me round after last sats 3peaks!!!!:)
Hope we can get some good views from the tops tomorrow. OK I know that we should all be running so fast that we've no time to stand and stare but I might just pause for thought at the top somewhere provided the clag decides to keep away!!:)
What is the exact distance for this race. I have seen various distances from just over 7 to 9 miles? I have never done this one before and, looking at the climb from the start, it looks tough!
