My pink Ugg boots are no longer Pink!! Fell over before the race even started on the way to the loo :rolleyes:

Anyway cracking race - bit wild out there and I did my bit for all concerned and sourced all the major and deepest bogs for those behind to avoid :rolleyes:

Still.... got a cuddly toy for my efforts so a certain 6 year old is mighty pleased....hope she doesn't think a precedent has been set :eek:

She mentioned the funny looking man to me as well - said she married him.

Re the running - not back yet, just was fed up sitting inside and thought f it i'll have a jog, I also weighed myself today :(

How did you do? I am trying to gauge how rubbish I have become and I reckon you will be a good benchmark :D

Err I did introduce myself and you seemed nice enough, for a second or two anyhow. I reckon above the cloud, which is where you dwell compared to us (normal) hobbit sized folk, you're just a BFG who needs a cuddle.

42 mins and I think 31 seconds - 85th place, got passed on the finish by 1 but other than that once the race got started to climb no one got past me, unless I passed them first (and again that was only 1). I was much slower than before, however not sure if overall field was slower than usual , if I had done the time I did last time I would have been placed in the early forties I think instead of the 70th or so place I think ended up in.

Depressed after my intial pleasure at finishing in one piece, will this injury ever go away and will I ever get fit again.

TWAS a good race
Took me ages to get going today and got blocked in a bit but i loved the bog . Fell 4 times in those deep bogs :rolleyes:.

errrr.....but this was a year ago - didn't have the chance to p*ss everyone off this year by parking my shiny new cross bike at the race finish as ankle is still in plaster until tomorrow (23rd).
Looks like I missed a great race this year........although had similar interesting challenge having a great sesh Friday night at Moyles, Stubbing Wharfe then Fox and Goose leaving at 1 Sat AM - uphill on crutches after a gallon.............hmmmmmmmmm, see y'all soon

The winning time at The Stoop is particularly affected by mud and varies a lot but it is interesting (to me anyway) to compare this with the time of the runner half way down the field who will be affected to a similar degree.

Not surprisingly the larger the field the higher this ratio ie the bigger the field the "weaker" the field but a cursory look at Sundays (incomplete) results suggests that everyone was affected similarly by the mud/wind.

How would that explain the fact if I had done a previous faster time yesterday when I was 7oth or so, i would have been in the 40's, just a weakened field with less top runners, being able to run in the conditons, local knowledge or all of the above. Answering my own question in was very icy last time possibly allowing faster "road" type runners to stretch out more. I was 3 minutes slower than before (from poor memory) but only dropped about 15 places.

My taste in music is consistent, at least I don'ny proclaim that no decent music was made aftyer about 1958, then say Bob Dylan is the best artist. Contradiction?:confused:

I think I said music after 1959. This was because Elvis was in the army and rock 'n' roll died and people like Billy Fury, Eden Kane, Adam Faith, appeared. Yuk!
