You got me Daz, though I didn't need much persuading. 16m and loads of hills... heaven. EOD only sounds fine to me. 16m isn't too far, looking at results most people did this under 3 hours.

For 2008, isn't it entry on the day only??? :confused:

Organiser has been in contact regarding cut-off times, most probably at Mill Hill summit & Edale Cross & main road crossing at Peep 'O Day.. more info on this will be posted via the website nearer the race date...

It's the day after Ennerdale - I may just go along and watch!

As for hints, don't blast off up Lantern Pike too quickly and it's probably worth recceing the bit between Edale Cross & South Head if you're not familiar with it.

its tougher than you think. I may plod round it at the back.
look out for a certain pennine runner, he knows it well.

Sounds good to me (and I do know the way!) Should take 3½ to 4 hours I reckon. If I don't change my mind I'll be at the Scout Hut by 10.30am. (I'll park at the Pack Horse round the corner.)

I only just broke 2hrs at Kinder Downfall (10M), so I would be overjoyed to get near 3 hrs on the Trog :D

sounds like the tail of the race is shaping up to be more competitive than the front! ;)

I would put you down for 2.30 Jan.
Last year I did 2.43 compared to 3.30 at Pendle if that gives you some idea.

Yes but you are well ahead of me at the moment. I think 2.30 is realistic.

I approached someone at a recent race 'cos they looked a lot like you do in your avatar. Only it wasn't you. Strangely enough, when I asked said person if he was "stagger" from the forum he replied "might be, depends".... :eek: How odd.

The longer the race, the better the beer tastes after, especially when someone else is buying, wife bought me a pint of Guinness after the Duddon, it tasted like..............................bloody hell, i'm lost for words, it was reet good:D

I'm afraid this is nothing like Borrowdale! But it is a pleasant trip around the 'Hayfield Skyline'.

I shan't be doing this next week as I'm doing Ennerdale on the Saturday, but I'll probably be up near Kinder Low watching with Emma. I might even take some water up with me if it's hot!

I had a nice gentle jog around the route earlier today (about 2 1/2 hours) and it was pretty dry everywhere, but there was still some good drinkable water at the River Sett checkpoint.
