I enjoyed it too, first race in ages, I'd love to know what time I did it in, I leftmy watch at home :o :D
I forgot to set mine!! again!!
I want the results, now!
Give us a second!
There you go, Brummy!
Results up now: http://www.rossendaleharriers.co.uk/...ill%202007.xls
Yikes, that was quick, with results like that I think I'll start using really big red font in conversation.
Thanks guys :)
Any chance of the kids results, Please.
Junior results can be found at http://www.rossendalejuniorharriers.tk
It's that time of year again (no not April Fools Day), the first evening fell race of the season. Hurrah!!
Steepish climb up a track, followed by fairly flat running across fields and moorland to the top of Liver Hill, and then back the same way. Entry rather good value at nowt. Bunch of junior races as well.
Anyone doing it?
Yep, as long as I can finish work an hour early and get there in good time, how many runners does it usually attract?
yes I'll be there, never done it before.
Might do this if i'm on the right shift, cos its free and i'm a tight Yorkie:o
I should be running this. Seem to remember there is a fair few styles/gates to contend with for such a short race - At least it will give that Pudgy chance to catch me up:D
Fighting talk young plodder, fighting talk. Only time we'll see each other at a style is as I'm coming down and you're still going up (possibly :o)
Don't forget, unheard of luxury for a fell race, there's changing and showers in our salubrious facilities, and tea and sweeties upstairs after the race (you have to pay for these, so Swoop best bring his flask and packed lunch again :D)
Just realised it's a 6.45 start, hopefully I'll be able to finish work a little early.
can i still do this in rossy colors or is they banned?
you not paid your subs penguin? Clair will be on your case.
don't forget Liver hill , free entry ,and showers at the Pits.
Can anyone supply a grid ref for the start of the race? And a vague route description? i cant find owt on rossendale site but its probably just me being stupid... Cheers
Grid reference is 820232. The route follows tracks then climbs to The Height, before swinging left onto Bonfire Hill, going through fields, then onto moorland (boggy in places). Last little steep bit onto the top of Liver Hill, then back the way you came. Brummy John's got a profile of the course on http://www.johnmayall.btinternet.co....erhill2006.htm
Some nice knee deep bogs to contend with!!
It's fairly easy going because most of the climb is on hard tracks, the open moor bit is fairly flat or with slight gradient (apart from of course the last bit up to the summit)
Should be running providing the evil witch-slag boss goes home early.
I think we'll be having a run. By "we" I mean some of our children and me.
Met you last year chris, about a week before the race on the track from marl pitts up to liver hill, I carried on down to Water and you were making your way back to Bacup.
Just come back from Liver hill training run, nice and boggy, just what the doctor ordered .Top of the hill would be a great place to watch from, apart from the first climb/decent you can see damn near all the race.
I was thinking the brave could hurdle one of the fences, you might leave your teabags on the barbs though.
