Gisborough Moors Race

A highly enjoyable race, with varied terrain and potentially fast bits, as well as Roseberry Topping....'Mmmmm, Roseberrry Topping' (Homer Simpson voice)....

Good to meet hillbilly, with whom I did plenty of to-ing and fro-ing until his mudmonster prowess proved superior. Also, a paddockful of friendly Ponies, including Ambrosia Kid and DeeJay. Nee Bother, thanks for coming across at the end and making yourself known. I thought I caught a glimpse of Ernest Flange-Nibbler too, but I could be mistaken; it was near the end, and the mind can play tricks when you're exhausted...

I nearly asked several lady runners if they were Mountain Goatess, but decided I wouldn't risk getting slapped. MG, please can you find some way of identifying yourself next time? A self-adhesive beard or set of horns would be sufficient, or Walshes with a cloven hoof outsole.

It was a good race, assuming the definition of a good race is "being totally trashed by the end"

Good to meet you today. You certainly fooled me with your race plan "I Start slowly and then ease up" When you eased up I lost you and never saw you until the end!

Good to meet you as well. I must apologise for my lack of manners in not offering you the last piece of carrot cake. I can only blame my collapsed state after the race and the danger that if you'd refused then the old one, I mean Ambrosia Kid would have scranned it, or worse Nee Bother might have got it

Ambrosia Kid will no doubt be posting soon to tell you all about the horrible injuries he received when he fell 300 feet down the fellside

Race Report.................

I spotted Nee Bother running away from Vinegar Hill hotly pursued by the Ambrosia Kid who fell 500 feet:eek: whilst being chased by a Naked Man who in turn outran the Hillbilly after his tussle with Tussockface and a Mountain Goatess:p . When's it gonna stop Deejay. Was it a Breeze at the prize giving too? Obviously never spotted the lesser spotted Ernest Flange-Nibbler, possibly just as well with a name like that:eek:

I did the three peaks twice last year on my own, but not all running. I felt better today when I realised people were walking up Roseberry! I have been a 'walker'...sorry for swearing!...for a few years tho.
My first race last year was Lyke Wake 42 miles.
I did trollers Trot 1st March 24miles
Arkendale 30th March 10k
So just getting into it now. It's really hard to train at the minute though as my hours at work are really long. I do 8-6 or 8-8 with an hour drive each way on top of that...so feeling very tired. Just need some more sunshine like today and I'll come to life!

I seem to have missed out on the cake :(

Mind, I had to get straight off as I had to work this afternoon. Oh, and I was parked on the grass in front of the club house and got stuck in the mud. Two kindly folk pushed me off. Thanks, whoever you were.

Good to see Stead won. How he does it in pin stripes and a bowler hat I'll never know. Bloody good show! Prefer that filly Purdy myself - she's Ab Fab. Gets the old Flange-Nibbler pecker up I can tell you! Can't remember the name of that third fellow - popped up in later life shaking his beans for a living. Wish someone would pay me for doing that - I'm rather a dab hand, though I say so myself. Gareth Cnut I think he was called. Or something like that.

I can see a cake fest happening after Anni waltz on Saturday for a small fee i 'll let you have a few crumbs NB, after my dramatic 900ft fall just before Roseberry my elbow and hip came up like puddings, bit like your ankle I suppose.:p Tell your dad to watch out on saturday cos i am mainly eating rice pudding this week.

Not yet Mr T , should be on North Yorks ac website soon. I did not see many cameras if any on the course but then i rolled down most of the hills:D

I was quite pleased with my time given that I was totally useless on the muddy bits, I had to walk most of the moors bit as I fell over twice, just couldn't get a grip in the mud, my shoes were crap but they are like wearing slippers!

Hi, doing fine, no more real work for the rest of the week now. Much like me, I was wearing my trail shoes and had a terrible time on that mud slide in the forest, (oh yes thanks for the footwear advice Ambrosia;) ). What were you wearing?
