Looks great. BG training in snow is worth 50% extra imho

MrRTS's 18 mile cycle commute to work this morning was (his words) "interesting". The 18 miles home words when he got in I can't repeat
Just had a look out of the window and the snow is looking deep out there!
Masses of the white stuff here in upper Teesdale, adding to the deep drifts we've had all week.

Problem is, unlike a couple of years ago when it settled into a hard, runnable, crispy surface, its very dry and has remained fairly soft and deep - a real Bu**er on some of my local climbs - grrrrh.
Well the dogs are happy :D
7.5" so far in Bolton and still falling heavily.
Just a couple of inch across Calderdale.
Sun's out here.....lovely morning
Bloody hell - the next door neighbour is out there, right now, clearing his drives and paths so fastidiously that it's as if the cleaning of the snow has become for him, as important as the blood which courses through his dreary beige veins.
Yes beige because it's his type that kept the cardigan market alive in between periods of it being fashionable and it's his type that keeps the Managing Director of the Velcro fastening shoe factory in Haslingden on holidays to Lake Garda each year. But those beauties have to stay locked up today don't they?
He is now standing there breathing heavily inbetween bouts of tutting at his slovenly neighbours eating their breakfasts. He'll be cleaning the car to within an inch of its life next.
My next door neighbour is out digging furiously with his narrow spade trying to get his car off the drive. Mrs Alf has been out there offering our snow shovel to him. I told her there's no point as he stands no chance of getting his rear wheel drive car off the estate at the moment.
Going Going............................
Nice 6inches this morning lovely run up into the forest.
Dan
Major thaw underway, passed 3 avalanches today. All within 100m of each other, proper little snow trap.
Here too. MrRTS fitted his snow & ice tyres back on at 5.30 this morning before heading off to work. Recon 2hrs before I get the "here safe" call. I've had enough now but the dogs are happy :-)
Same here, and with a cold wind even down at the coast.
We've even got a cm in balmy Masham! Sun's shining though so that will be gone by noon I reckon.
I managed to get half way up the drive this morning in the car and it held on the footbrake. When I put the handbrake on and put it in a forward gear and took my foot off the brake pedal it started to slide back down the drive (which is on a slope). A bit unnerving!
Aye that was me.:)
Snow here to day was manic. I had to dig the car out 3 times. Drifting windblown snow. took the mrs three times as long to get to work where......there was no snow!!
To make it more interesting I had a Navigation course running today. Thigh deep snow at times and full on white outs in the spindrift and snow. Turned in to a winter skills course :) great fun though and lots learnt.
A fresh couple of inches on the hill. But the deep stuff has consolidated so it is at least runnable.
Snow, lots of snow.
Lots of closed ski areas today.
Snow here too at Litton Mill :-). Not too bad at the moment but it's settling. Going for a little run with Winnie then hoping to be able to still get the car out at 3.30 to head into Sheffield.
We are getting a steady covering here but no large flakes yet just the smaller ones. Fortunately the gritters made at least two trips round the estate last night so I can still get out.
Loads here near wrexham. builders are out fixing the roof on our new extension. brave souls. probably fellrunners deep down :)
Snowing in Nottingham, looks like it might settle a bit.
Chaos on the roads of Tayside, folk all over the shop.
Plenty of resistance training on my run pushing cars about though!
My favourite driver was a lady in a Fiat 500 wondering why 5 people where all staring at her shaking there heads. I suspect as she looked up the steep hill she was attempting strewn with vehicles of all descriptions it all became clear.
