Nowt, as promised!
Saints Lad, does your fell run count as a recovery run then?
I messed up on a hilly 5 mile race on Wednesday (31:40) because of doing too much, then last night doing an hour of Fell hill reps have completely done me in.
I am going to start training properly on June 11th and may as well use this thread to make sure I stick to some kind of training regime!
64 lengths in the pool as knee still knacked!!!
I've not run for 6 days now and if anything its got worse!
Another day without tomorrow and Monday I'm going for a run pain or not!!!!
:( hope the knee gets better soon calf, no falling down on it after a few beers later ;)
Well not training as such, but wanted to mention my first race in New Hampshire USA ( just a week after arriving)
Was called "The Big Lake Half Marathon" - http://www.timbermantri.com/biglakeindex.html
Undulating course with a tough section in the middle, about 1400 runners. Ajohns did 1:28:36 and I think finished in the first 50!! Weather was quite warm but lovely and sunny and the scenery was amazing. Overall standard here is probably not as high as back home.
Not a particularly good run, but reasonably please
RR - you should pencil this in for next year. You would smash the record no problem.
Well Done Ajohns!:D :D
:D well done that man!
:o now feeling even worse about not running today and can't make crowdon tomorrow either because I have got too much work to do
rest day today ready for blackpool 10K tomorrow :D
Rather an easy 20 mile cycle with a couple of mates. They were wanting to save their efforts for some ride or other around the Lakes tomorrow.
Managed 4 hilly miles, hamstring easing a little. Would be nice to race next Sunday at Ilkley so going to have a session with physio Wed night.
1 mile / 50 lenghts of the local pool. Mixed up crawl and breast. Knackered. Had planned a bike ride but the wind and rain is so firece I wimped out. Soft, southern Jessie.
nowt yesterday, unless you count lying in bed with a hangover!
Thou on the plus side yesterday was the first in ages that my knee hasn't hurt and so far has been ok today!
now with this good news do I run tonight or rest and make sure???
You should continue to rest, it may just be that you were numb from the alcohol :) It's what usually happens to me.
just been for a really crap run, not sure why I was even crapper than normal, either I am just rubbish, or I just haven't run enough lately, or I am a bit under the weather, or it's decptively close and muggy out there despite the rain it just doesn't feel fresh. Or maybe I am just rubbish!
Right I will stop moaning now, get some work done to give me time to go out and run tomorrow! :D
 Ah don't worry about it!
Its monday morning getting out for a run is enough regardless of how it went!
My start to the has included sitting on my butt, yawning and drinking lots of tea!
oh yeah.....good point!
You should be ok today ground will be nice and soft after all the fecking rain we've had over the weekend!
rest today and tomorrow.. may go for a waddle on wednesday..
when i can work out where the dog put my running shoes(Jarvis) Lucy(pup) still intent on eating me shoe laces..
14 miles saturday am, from darwen - great hill - winter hill and back via bellmont. Nice run, went from really miserable weather to lovely sunshine.
More boot camp style training tonight from trainer :D
wow thats pretty going Sarah! am impressed!
I counter your miles and miles of training on saturday by stating I did some hoovering!!!!!!!:D
8 recovery miles today after fell race yesterday
very painfull :(
I actually ran today....and neither leg fell off!! Somehow 30 mins seems so pathetic after the 9-12 hours a day of last week!
OK, I confess. I did too. 5 miles steady, well slow actually.
Damn you all....I thought this was the no training thread!!!
Well I sorta did some!
16 miles on the bike and then 40 lengths in the pool!
Couple of twinges from the knee when going up 'sheep houses lane' on the bike but apart from that ok!
Oh and there was a right good looking lass in the pool as well......:D :D
Am going to give 'shock horror' a run a go tonight.
Head down the track and do some slow laps as I'm guessing the nice soft springy surface might be better for the knee!
Holy hell I ACHE all over :(
yesterdays non running hour in the gym means I'm left with a torso fit for nowt. Thought I'd wake up with a 6 pack (no not beer!) but instead I'm shuffling round like a 90 year old and getting the kids to pick their own stuff up off the floor:eek:
Off for a trundle round the track tonight - first run in a fortnight also going with the springy surface can't be all that bad option:rolleyes:
trip to sweatshop first for some noooo shooos this morn - anything to ease these shin splints (a lot better now btw but not taking any chances - well I NEED a new pair - right???;) )
4 hilly run and then 71 on the bike for me. Hamstring still not happy - physio tommoz. Hoping to do White Wells FR at Ilkley on Sat if my hamstring is up to it........
Some hill reps late last night during my 4 mile trail route at home.... it was my brother's first run so i thought some 'easy' hill reps thrown in would do him good :D Brotherly love:cool:
6.6 miles with 587ft ascent and 2 x 10 mins fartlek in the middle. The trails are pretty wet on the northern fringe of London. Flyrocs ideal. Enjoyable!:)
bloody blisters, no running today give it a bash tomorrow.. had a nice 4 hour stroll earlier
OK time to ruin the thread again - after 2 days of no training did a nice and wet 50+mins (6.5 miles) tonight.
wet wet wet i'm very very wet!
or i was...
6 miles steady at lunch time and tonight over an hour out to esholt and back to watch the 5k on the bike, didn't stop raining...nice bowl of soup now mmmmmm:)
