Re: Pennine Bridleway Relay
Really good day! Never experienced anything like it. It was bloody cold waiting in the school hall even with my layers on, never mind running ha.
Had to get changed stood in the road at the start of leg 2 so for anyone who is still disturbed from seeing a young lad topless who looks like he's just escaped from auschwitz i apologise.
Well done to emi on keeping going after that fall, your final sprint into the finish was ace! - And with a minor hangover:rolleyes:
Well done to my partner to Karen Nash for keeping going and finishing. We had a decent first mile by over-taking a handful of pair straight away but Karen began to struggle with her breathing and her legs weren’t working and i was beginning to think we where going to pull out.
But after we got halfway we managed to get some good momentum and began to pick off all the pairs who's overtaken us earlier in the leg. We had a good finish down the big winding hill, i tried to sprint the finish but it felt like someone was playing pinball in my legs with cramp.
Saw the ponies and stayed to watch them come in...was good to chat to George about his super powerful car, drug dealing day jobs, the pony flag, his rowing machine and evercise bike....we talked about alot really.
Message for The Master and Amex - I still don’t know what to believe!
Met Disco Stan, NB, Roger Rabbit, Mr and Mrs C and Wheezing Donkey out in the middle of Leg 2 walking in the opposite way who stuck his hand out as I ran past “Im wheezing Donkey”
Re: Pennine Bridleway Relay
Thank god for that - I thought merry had beaten me because Emi said he'd finished Leg 2 before I did......but he finished in 1:56.....I finished in 1:54.;):D

1:58 actually Al;)
The challenge is this: Lets see what sort of shape he's in at 44, when i was his age i was on 40 a day, ten pints a night and up at 5am for an 8 mile run at 6min/miles:eek:
Some of that is true:D
