I'm in, first time for me
First time for me also :) I'm wondering what approach people take to training specifically for this race?
I'm supposing or hoping i'll finish somewhere between 3:35 and 3:55. Usually when training for long races like marathons, I focus on lots of quick runs between 1:45 and 2:30, I don't really bother with anything over 2:30 as I reckon its just wasted time. But should I be considering a couple of really long slow runs for this one seeing as it could easily take me upto 4 hours?
Rev, I often run from the start to the Hill Inn as a training run for this race and as I live local give me a shout if you want to come over as long as i have no race on. am also free most Thursdays as well
thanks for the offer geronimo, don't think i'll get chance to get down before race day though :( maybe you can offer some tips on the route, is there any other cheeky limbs the unwary should be aware of other than the 3 big ones? How far betwwen peny ghent and the 2nd peak? thanks
There's a lot of running in it Rev. As has often been said its a trail race with three big climbs! Think Gisborough Moors but bigger climbs! Pretty sure with your background, as I understand it, you'll be ok!! Oh! btw...I'm doing it! I need to get some climbing in though!
