86.6 kg - (13 stone 9) - quite happy with that...
Put me down for 90.7kg.
179lbs = 81.7kg
This was fully clothed (in last year's official weigh-in outfit) and means I'm 4lb lighter than this time last year, when I'd been seriously dieting / training hard for a month already and 8lb lighter than New Year 2011). Quite pleased really. Not sure of a target but I was hovering around 174lb early last summer and that equates to 79kg. I reckon I can do a bit of something assuming Tesco don't have a BOGOF on Jaffa Cakes soon :closed::o
Been out the last two nights at 9pm to do a 5 mile with 900 ft climb run at under 10:30 minute mile. Crazly I have dropped two Kg since Monday morning, RunKeeper reckons that run is worth 780 calories does anybody know a rough formula for calculating calories burnt during a run?
I know the only truly accourate way is to take a blood sample to measure the sugar content in the blood
I usually reckon on 650 to 800 cals per hour of anything fairly hard: mountain biking, fell running, hill walking, but then I don't even wear a watch when running :closed:
83.5kg
so 1 down, 3.5 to go
was hoping to have lost more already by now, but knee prob has restricted my running mileage and I've carried on eating like a pig :o
I think a very rough estimate is 100 kcals per mile for an average male of average weight (whoever he is). That's net calorie burn (over and above the calories you would have burned sitting on your sofa).
It doesn't account for height gain. You could bring in Naismith to let you equate 2000ft with 3 miles, which I think would work reasonably well. It also doesn't account for speed, although that seems to have a smaller effect on calorie burn than you might imagine.
There are so many variables that I don't think it's worth trying to work it out accurately. But to be within a ballpark is enough that you know whether a run equates to half an apple or double cake.
So your 5 miles & 900ft is very roughly 635 kcal.
They say you need a 500kcal defecit per day to lose 1lb a week.
This may shed some light on the situation. Or add confusion...
Dr PB: I'm down to 68kg but revised target is 64kg, so still 4 to go - cheers!
Sorry for the late weigh in, only just managed to get on the computer. Weighed in at 77.2kg
eavesy187, can you delete your post that has the table in it as it my cause confusion if somebody updates an earlier version of it.
The same goes for anybody else that reposts an edited version of the table.
We will try to only have the one version of it.
79.5 kg 15.6% bodyfat 22.5 bmi. On scales at home when I got up off nights. Do I need to update the table? If so how is it done!? Cheers.
Cheers Doc, deleted my update as requested.
Thanks again.
sorry I was late, my update is 67.5kg.
After a month of very little exercise I am only down to 80.5 :(
Sorry Doc, also late 76.7kg not much of a change
Bliney I've got the most to shift. I'm on it dudes but won't weigh in till the end of feb for starters
Late weigh in current 82.1 (start 81.2:o) aim 76.2
5.9 to go
Thanks chart master

I was asked how does one up date the table so here is a picture. Just edit the last version of the table and scroll down to your name. The image shows Alexandra. In this case:
55.45 is the start weight
54 Target weight
55.45 (second one) current weight
1.45 remaining
If your name is not in the table just copy this entire block and past it in below and then change the details.
How do I add an image in-line and not in the jQuery popup?
DrPat, here's a problem with the calorie counter web-site. It doesn't seem to have either potted meat sandwiches or Timothy Taylor's Ram Tam on the data-base. These are my staples and as such the web-site is useless to me :closed:
Now 86.8 kilos. I have, thus far, been too thick to understand how you edit the table. Would you mind doing it for me Dr PB? Thanks.
Looking at that table, I really am a big unit amongst you fell types.
I have updated the table.
Well, firstly apologies to Dr P for 'joining' and then not giving any info but my interweb at home is kaput and I've had a few days off work! I started at a massive 100kg (15st 11lb) and lost 4.5 lb in the first week. Not a lot, granted, but there were mitigating factors like being away from home so not having complete control over what I got to eat, no running, and more beer than I should really be drinking!
Anyhoos, weigh day on wednesdays, hopefully this week will see the same or more being shed...
sorry, lost track a bit here, are we meant to be adjusting our own figures in the table ... ?
anyway, I'm down to 67.5kg but am also going to revise up my target weight to 65kg.
I didn't realise 64kg was a shade over 10 stone. That'd be just silly.
If my earlier instructions made sense go ahead and repost/edit the table yourself. Otherwise one of us that is comfortable with doing it will update it for you.
having read the previous post ya it does make sense to do them all at the same time - sorry posted too quick.
Don't forget it's weigh in tomorrow. Dr I'll be a bit late as I start nights tomorrow so I'll be having a lie in. Should weigh in mid afternoon.
Really going for it here I have been out running 6 of the last 7 days. So managed to get another Kg off. Going well but I hate being permanently hungry!
Well done DrP. I fear it's not going so well over here! I'm not home until next Monday- probably just as well that I can't weigh in this week.
Hello, Dr P. I'm sorry, I have read the instructions but still haven't understood how to update the table. Please would you do it for me? I have lost 0.57kg making my new weight 54.88kg and remaining to lose 0.88kg. Thanks very much.
Rodders at 84kgs.
Today's weigh in: 85.9 kg.
Another small loss.
I'm happy with that as I've had a cold and been eating crap all week and doing no exercise!
77kg, not running because of calf injury, but still eating as if I was running, so no change up a tad.
Bah: 68kg. That's a week with no running & too many chocolate biscuits for you. Must do better.
Bang on 14st, which my calculator tells me is 88.9kg. Have managed to avoid the biscuit aisle in Sainsburys, but not the pub...
