What did she do in dallas Daz?

Munich was longer than I thought, but good. Not as overtly pro-Israel as I thought it would be (i.e. Arabs bad/Jews good). Some strong points of Israeli/Jewish reflection in there, and in the end, quite ambiguous.
40mins into Kagemusha, and needing less effort than I thought (ain't it the way:rolleyes:). Though with everyone having the same haircuts and wotnot, keeping tabs on which warlord is which is a bit tricky! Adverts now, and my belly is telling me to make a cheese 'n' pickle butty.
I'm desperately trying to think of a sad bit in mamma mia . When pierce brosnan sings 'the winner takes it all' maybe, on the steps up to that dinky church? Anyway with two daughters suffice to say I've seen it over half a dozen times. Brilliant film.
I watched master and commander yesterday. A fantastic film and a brilliant insight to life in the british navy in 1805 . Knocks huge spots off of the original pirates of the caribbean film which unfortunately released at exactly the same time and overwhelmed m & c at the box office.
For me it's the song 'slipping through my fingers'
Schoolbag in hand, she leaves home in the early morning
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile
I watch her go with a surge of that well-known sadness
And I have to sit down for a while
The feeling that I'm losing her forever
And without really entering her world
I'm glad whenever I can share her laughter
That funny little girl
Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see what's in her mind
Each time I think I'm close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Sleep in our eyes, her and me at the breakfast table
Barely awake, I let precious time go by
Then when she's gone there's that odd melancholy feeling
And a sense of guilt I can't deny
What happened to the wonderful adventures
The places I had planned for us to go
(Slipping through my fingers all the time)
Well, some of that we did but most we didn't
And why I just don't know
Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see what's in her mind
Each time I think I'm close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture
And save it from the funny tricks of time
Slipping through my fingers
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Schoolbag in hand she leaves home in the early morning
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile
gets me every time :(
Had to interrupt to walk Hamish in a rare dry window. Won't get a chance tonight with the firworks. Back now...and dopey Nigel(?) from Eastenders seems to be in it as a resistance/propaganda type!
Surely the sad bit in Mama Mia is the bit where you take it out of the box, slide it in and press play?;) Just kidding, I'm sure itcs great, but Abba get on my t*ts!:D
Thats just brought a tear to my eye :). Kind of relevant to me with my eldest daughter, a real soul mate as well as a daughter, 'slipping through my fingers all the time'.
As for not liking Abba SS, I don't like Abba either. The songs though in this film just work, well most of them anyway.
Bloody hell! Must be those masochistic fell-runner tendencies. That was tough viewing. Music though was fantastic. Listening to those pieces given the background certainly packs an emotional punch.
I'm stricly on Comedy Central for the rest of the day before I do something stupid!
a "modern great" comedy Classic on E4 at 11:10pm
Planes, Trains And Automobiles
I'm laughing out loud just thinking about it
"Those aren't pillows"
:D
ZOMBIELAND (Quality ! :D )
Zombieland rules of survival
Rule # 1 CARDIO (Fell Runners last longer )
Rule # 2 DOUBLE TAP (Shoot'em twice and you won't become a human happy meal !)
Rule # 3 BEWARE OF BATHROOMS
Rule # 22 WHEN IN DOUBT KNOW YOUR WAY OUT
Rule # 31 ALWAYS CHECK THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR
Off to see THIS tomorrow. Not well reviewed but we goats get few opportunities in films these days
Italian for Beginners
With a whisky and chocolate.
Michael Clayton starring George Clooney. Pretty good, and refreshingly realistic relative to some films where normal everyday guys turn into supercool heroes at the first sign of danger. 7.5 out of 10.
'Taken' with Liam Neeson.....oooo eck, I'm never gonna sleep tonight, I'm hiding behind the screen at the nasty bit :o:(
I like the bit when he gets into a fight with the French president and skewers him with a baguette.
Come to think of it, maybe that was the director's cut. ;)
Although compelling viewing at the time, when you look back at the plot, this is one of the funniest films I've seen.
Okay I'll say it, Taken is complete bollocks :)
I didn't say I liked it  in fact his funny coloured dyed hair was getting on my nerves. The plot, well was as simple as and it was 90 minutes of him as a 1 man vigilanty bludgeoning anyone and everyone. I also couldn't work out if he was supposed to be just irish, American or Irish American?!
Last night I watched "The Boat That Rocked". It's a fictional account of a pirate radio station in the late 60's. Largely panned by the critics, which means I was bound to like it, I'll give it a Rotten Courgette rating of 80%.
Watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang yesterday. Modern take on the classic noir stories, with a few surreal touches. Really enjoyed it.
New Star Trek: awesome in a non-trekkie way, Spock stood out for me, no idea who the actor is.
Terminator Salvation: Didn't advance the story very far other than to confirm the planet is overrun with Skynet's machines, although you do meet Kyle. Worth a look if like me you're following the saga but i think they're beginning to spin it out a bit.
Currently trying to work through misty eyes watching Merry Christmas, the story of the Xmas Eve armistice of 1914. It's the hormones.
Watched Law Abiding Citizen on Friday night.
I have hardly watched any films in my life, but I thought this was pretty good.
:)
A film I always wanted to see and have never had enough time:eek: is Schindlers List. Powerful stuff and very moving.
Got District 9 on DVD last weekend, it has to be one of the best movies i've ever seen, you think it's going to be another run of the mill affair but it keeps surprising you.
watching the mask love this film not seen it for ages :p
then after it there is dumb 'N' dumber :D
Just watching Step Brothers with Will Ferrell, pretty funny:D
