Hi MG, I saw you come in at the Anni but didn't get a chance to say Hi. You were looking good though and hopefully we'll catch up at Fairfield. Was really great to see so many forumites and a big thank you to all the organisers and marshalls. It was such a great race, couldn't have asked for any more, friendly, great weather, views, killer ascents (and descents in my case) and lovely tea and cakes.
Thanks for that http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/.../thumbs_up.gif
Wahey! First Pony! http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/...ile_smiley.gif
don't think I'll make Fairfield - probably be doing the more local (to me) Mount Famine, or if I can swing another pass-out past Lady Slugge I'll probably head for Snowdonia for Moel Eilio
Fairfield is a cracker though - you'll definitely need to train for the long descent http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/...ted_smiley.gif
and it's very easy to go wrong on the way down - the year I did it one guy ended up in Ambleside! (not me, honest!)

Don't apologize Daz.....I'm glad I took your advice. I was thanking you all the way round. It was hotter than I expected.
I was wondering if this is your chat up line to all the girls! Quote ....'You should take that top off, you'll be far too hot in that!' ha ha :D

Ah, a slight bugger!
Give me a shout if you ever need any marshalling help in the future!
Oh and whilst we are on the topic (sort of)...Some time ago somebody told me dogs are allowed up certain parts of Bowland? I always hoped to be able to take me yound pouch up Bowland but is it not to be?
Dogs will be OK on the front of Parlick - supposedly common land, but watch out for livestock, be ready to put the pooch on a lead.
When the "Right to Roam" came in, estates had a deadline by which to apply for an exclusion against dogs, even on a lead ( so I am told ). Seemingly the Bleasedale Estate got theirs in; so no dogs on the back of Parlick, Fairsnape Fell ( Paddy's Pole ) right around the head of the River Brock - Fiendsdale Head, Holme House Fell & Hazelhurst Fell. This also applies to the Duchy of Lancaster estate - around Grisedale Head - and the Grosvenor ( Duke of Westminster ) estate at Abbeystead ( all of Wyresdale, Littledale and Roeburndale ). I'm only aware of one estate that failed to get their application in ( owner lives overseas ) and seemingly something of a bitter pill with them; and we need their co-operation for a couple of our races. So best not upset the apple-cart.
It's all to do with the fact that roaming dogs will scare parent ground-nesting birds off their nest, long term; hence failure to rear the chicks. This includes grouse, on which the sporting estates are totally dependent for their income.
50 entries in for the Waltz:w00t:

I'm going up and back in the day for the Teenager, so an early start. Not sure how I'm getting there yet, but you're welcome to a lift if I'm driving. Did you get my email I sent you a while back about getting up for StefF's BG? You haven't changed your email address have you?
