Awsome achievement, a massive well done.
Great photos. I raced Cader Idris on the Saturday and the heat was bad enough in that!!! but to be out in it all day and night is toughness in its self.
Having been born and raised in Rhydymain and now live in Brithdir and train constantly on the Aran ridge, Waen Oer & Ceiswyn ridge, Caders and Rhobell I HAVE to give this round a go!!!:w00t:
Even though i know the above sections well in particular Waen Oer & Ceiswyn and Cader I would have to start and finish at Bwlch Oerddrws and it's only 1.5mile behind my house  so not far to crawl home IF i made it.
The question I have is how does one go about putting a team together to take on the round??? I know that a lot of you guys know the sections like Rhinogydd, Migneint and Arenig very well and have the knowhow of how to go about it. I guess what I'm asking is if anyone would be interested in teaming up to support me?? But have a well deserved rest for now though.
Massive respect to Carwyn and team.......Fantastic.
Driving through your part of Wales I was thinking of you and wondered whether we should have invited you to join in the fun.
I am sure many of us will love to support you, you just need to find some speedy pacers for the early sections. No problem with the road support, we can sort that out. I will let you know about our Meiri get together at the Cross Foxes. Yiannis
I remember you talking about it on here a year or so ago - about time you commited to the big one, and you know much of the ground pretty well. I can supply 1 x slow pacer for late sections :o and sure Caz would help early on. Caz is also a Welsh speaker, so you could natter away at top speed over the Rhinogs whilst the English trailed in your wake :D!!
Wouldn't be surprised if there was not another attempt before the year is out.
Really well done on surviving the heat. I really suffered on my own little adventure. You did brilliantly to keep up the pace under the unrelenting sun. :coollarge:
Come to think of it, the 3 completions (completeions as opposed to sub 24hr) so far as I know, have been done by a Greek, a Scotsman and a Welshman. Hope I have this right YTD?
Maybe Offas Dyke is working in reverse - keeping the English out of Meirionnydd?
Yes I mentioned it a while back.
A hectic racing schedule and International trail taces have kept me away from the round to be honest, and the training i should be doing to complete the round has been non exisient!!
But if I'm to give it a go then I'll need to sacrifice some of these races.
You mentioned a slow pacer:rolleyes: that could be a very good thing for me, because all the running I've done has been racing fell from 4mile races to 23mile races at pace so would need to be seriously disciplined to slow down to a pace that i could sustain for x amount of time.
There is a lot of things i need to know and would love to meet up whith you guys.
I sometimes feel like getting up at 4am have breakfast, put my rucksack on with supplies and walk/trot Dduallt, Rhobell to the creamery, Arans, waen oer, Ceiswyn, Caders to Barmouth just to see how long it would take with the miles I have in my legs so far from racing just to get the feel and see how much work needs to be done :p
Shwmae Gafr mynydd. I had to tell moley today what your name meant? He now understands.
Sorry that you couldn't get involved. You'd have been most welcome. Hope the cader race went well for you anyway.
As for supporting you(or anyone else to that matter), then you only need to ask. I'd love to support another attemptee. And i'm sure a few others would too. It's great that my run has stirred further interest. The growing vegtation would make it a difficult prospect from now on though which is why i went now. In fact it had grown quite a bit on some bits since my reccies a couple of weeks ago?? Any later and it starts tickling the chin of some?? I'm not naming anybody's chin though!!coughmoleycough!!
Anyway, It's way to late again.
Nos da.
Caz, the hat(which i haven't got..........as moley has stolen it!!!!!!!!!!)
