Once upon a time I was able to visit a beer festival the day before a fell race but in all fairness to my running partner in the CWR (especially if he is down wind:thunbdown:)and the rigours of Leg 4 I have decided to give this one a miss this year:

However this festival hot on the heels of a Belgian excursion might just be the ticket (or should I do Ennerdale instead?)

blimey, supped a few Hawkshead New Zealand pale ales last night on the way home from work, thought I could get away with 3 pints before going home and functioning properly for the rest of the evening, needless to say after 3 pints of the 6% gem I was about trolleyed :p revess wasn't best pleased, she had to cook for herself  on the other hand she got the rest of the night off from me as I passed out shortly after getting home :o
ha maybe jez  I was tired and hungry after work, or thats my story and im sticking to it! Funny I managed to put away double figures of guiness on saturday and was alright, but this hawkshead new zealand gear is loopy juice
Had a couple of pints of Oakham Ales JHB last night. Very light and hoppy and would make a good session beer.
Roosters YPA (Yorkshire Pale Ale)
Holdens Golden Glow
Can't see me getting much done this afternoon....
A stonking bottle of Double Stout from Hook Norton brewery tonight.
Marstons- Pedigree

A Wells, Bombadear to finish.
Plenty of wainwright ale in the farrier, Threlkeld yesterday, I love that particular drop  Tried a few from the Jennings brewery too, not realy my dab, and an EPA from marstons, nice :)
On a sidenote, how expensive are the pubs in Lakeland these days!! 3pound40/50 for a pint of Ale that is brewed pretty close by, is there anywhere that you'd pay less than 3pound a pint in the lakes?
A bottle of Dead Steve's home-brew. Very tasty it is too
Just bought a couple of bottles of this:

Very much looking forward to giving it a try ! 10% !!!
A bottle of Batemans Dark Lord, followed by a Dorothy Goodbody Stout.
last nights was a bottle of Silver Owl from the Greenfield Brewery, handily they had a bar open at the Dove Stone Diamond race for draught and bottles.
A bottle of Ilkley Black. Not my favourite.
A Blue Monkey BG Sips, and something else that I can't remember (!) were today's lunchtime delights.
Several Northumbrian Blondes from the fantastic Mordue brewery followed by couple bottles of Wainwright and Fursty Feret
A belting Ilkley Stout Mary, followed by A Durham Evevingsong. Both performed miracles as I thought I saw England play well against Brazil & score 2 great goals.
You must have had them during the first half then!! The two goals were good, thought we'd got out of jail and actually done 'em for 4 or 5 minutes!!
Sam Smiths 'Yorkshire Stingo'!! Ace!!! Very, very tasty....chocolate/coffee flavour!!
Following a cracking run along Fremington Edge I had the following:
A pint of Guinness Extra Cold
A pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord (Both in The Buck in Reeth)
Then a little stroll along the river to The Bridge Inn in Grinton for:
A pint of Jennings High Spy
& A pint of Jennings Tom Fool.
What a beautiful part of Yorkshire.

A bottle of Durham Brewery Temptation Russian Stout at a rather hefty 10%. Very tasty but 1 was enough !
Three fine Yorkshire 'quaffing' ales tonight, all under 4% but all very tasty for a 'school night'...... Ilkley Brewery Mary Jane, Acorn Barnsley Bitter (still one of my fave best bitters!) and Copper Dragon IPA...which were nice:thumbup:
Castle Rock Bouncing Bomb and Batemans Combined Harvest. Anonther fine Friday lunchtime in the Victoria Hotel!
