I think, as the Americans would say, " and that's the ball game."
I think that's harsh on CL - you are trying to draw him in to a debate where he's had his wrists slapped in the past.
He had the guts before and you all then lambast him.
It also shows an intolerance of anyone that doesn't take the accepted line.

In that case I shall wind him up again and see if I get a better class of insult:D
No I must agree with you Biara - keep it up Tom (There was no way I could put this without someone deciding it was patronising - so take it as you will)

I'm not trying to draw him into anything just exposing how his simplistic world view just doesn't cut it. It's fine to court controversy in the way he does and, if he can back up his views with sound argument, those views are as valid as any other. However he rarely does this, seems to take pleasure in being antagonistic, has made personal threats and comments and fails to answer direct questions.
Also, to be honest, I can't see how there can be any debate about homosexuality in our society and in this day and age.

'Don't give a faeces' doesn't have the same ring to it although it could be the next anti-bullying slogan ;)
On a (very) loosely connected note, does anyone know why Americans say "I could give a damn" and us Brits say "I couldn't give a damn"?

Are you accusing me of being a bully - do I need to set a popularity poll up to raise my self esteem :p
Clark Gable in Gone with the wind used the British version, as the censors made him put the emphasis on give rather than damn.

disagree there are many issues, what is true homosexuality, is it genetic, learned or both etc. Does society pressure people into both labelled and castigated i.e for it, or pressured into acceptance. I.e if someone experiments as it acceptable are they now pressured to conform to the stereotype by both communities when they were only trying on a coat etc.
You could temper that with does it really matter - does it affect the world we live in in a way the BNP taking or not taking power (depending on your point of view) would, and I don't think it does and won't debate any of the points raised further to this post.
Unfortunately (I think) on both sides of the fence to some people passionately want this debate. If CL or others want to debate it that's up to them, but its also the right of the rest of us present our points of view. Its up to us all to decide if we can handle the consequences of their posts.
( unless of course we are drunk :D )

Always wondered about the logic of this. Surely if it was genetic then homsexuality would die out within a few generations?

I'm just getting drunk now so I can announce who I like and dislike on the forum and big up how everyone from Keighley is a massive drinker. :p
By the way, your family unfriendly language on the Wot are teenagers 4 thread hasn't gone unnoticed. :p

Don't take this the wrong way but you always say that and it's a cop out. It's the written equivalent of saying your piece then putting your fingers in your ears shouting "La La La La"
