A quick 40 miles on the bike to get the stiffness of last night's trail race out of them. Work work work now for the next 4 days solid. I find it very hard to go out for a run after a 13 hour shift but will try and fit one in Sunday night.
In anticipation of my weekend of mountain biking I had loaded up on cake and chocolate and only run once on Wednesday. May mate 'phoned me at 9.15am this morning and sounded like the feller from the Tunes advert : "I'm all bhunghed oop and sniffly n 've got a feevahh". So the weekend is off and I'm now pissed on real ale as my wife paints the lounge. Will make up for it tomorrow with a 40K bike ride on the downs as a first recce for my (soon to be) 40 @ 40 down South wimps 'Round'.
"And it's lend me ten pounds I'll buy you a drink...."
A pleasant run around the Goyt Valley with a group including Stagger.
13 miles in 3 hours or so. Even stopped for lunch at Errwood Reservoir.
I can vouch for that. A great run around the Goyt Valley today. Weather pefect.
cant get up early enough mate :( im sleeping too much over here
trouble is its not cool enough until about 7.30 at night either
it was about that temp at 4.00pm so i left it a bit and went later but until the sun really drops down its murder.
some good rocky runs though here as well
Made up for it this afternoon with a 20+ mile mountain bike ride up on the Downs with 1800ft of climbing. The weather stayed good for the first couple of hours then the rain came in and the last descent was pretty wretched. Was impressed by the dog owners today - lots of well behaved animals and ni ankle nippers. Partridge everywhere; if they only knew what was coming in a few weeks. Curry, beer and Casino Royale on DVD tonight.
"Run, but don't be scared to look behind
Stop, don't wait too long
Make up your mind."
5 x 5mins off 2 mins recovery. Warm up and down. About 12 miles.
Another 6 miles this afternoon on the moors.
I feel a chippy some time soon!
35 min warm up
3k steeplechase
Know that feeling very well daz. In the Summer here its roasting for about 3 months. Humid as well. And I sweat tons anyway, so when I run its like someones turned the tap on. Also the humidity takes it out on my chest too.
Then comes Winter when its freezing cold and 2 foot of snow!!
1 hr 40 on moors around Saddleworth with a lap of all three resers. Not much of a view from the tops!
This afternoon I think I will stay in bed, eat crisps and watch as much BB as I can get.
20 miles on the flat.
Maybe I should take something sugary with me on long runs like this as I tend to wilt a bit towards the end. Then again I think that depriving my body of sugar might be doing me good in some masochistic sort of way.
2 hrs off the plane so i went for a 10mile run , :)
much to the amazement of AJ , well not really she wasnt amused
pissing it down here
1.5 hours on Downs with 3 x 3 minute hill 'sprints' which almost killed me. I do believe I witnessed some "dogging" in the car park on my return. Thought that was an urban myth but these two were defintely having fun.
"Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight."
Bog hopping from Roddlesworth over Great Hill and Spitlers Edge to Winter Hill and back.
Lots of rain, loads of clag and bottomless bogs. Roll on summer!
After a 13 hour day the last thing I wanted to do was go out for a run but i forced myself out of the house and went up the hill. Glad I did, I came back feeling much better. 2 more long days to do and then several days off, ace.
In a nutshell, Crowden horseshoe, easy in 1h 30m. Lots o' bogs and shin high streams to cross. Fantastic views coming down off Tooleyshaw as the clouds cleared and the sum made an appearance. This is what it's all about! :D
Today's training will not be as long as yesterday's 4 hours 21minutes 44 seconds for sure !!
4 miles with dog running ahead can't keep up with the little bugger!!
3.5miles with achey legs from yesterday, hopefully it will have done me some good.
9 miles . lots of hills
tried the i pod again tonight
bloody golfers didnt like me crossing the golf course :( , tossers
5 miles, boggy, grassy and a bit hilly!!
Good to be back:D
Gave blood yesterday so a nice easy hour or so today. Think I'll go to Tatton Park.
15 min warm up
400m 30 sec recovery
600m with 200m jog recovery
x 7
15 min cool down
Running yesterday, cycling today, both tomorrow....
What on earth am I doing!
Run up Grizedale Pike this morning. Up one wa and down the other and then back along the road to the car. Spent rest f day at junior fell/mountain training camp organised by Bashir. It was a most excellently organised day and the juniors, several who will be competing at WMRT this september, really seemed to be enjoying the three days Bashir, along with others, had planned for them. Did a session this afternoon which involved downhill running techniques and a relay type effort training. Well done to the girl I trained with and I hope I didn't slow you down too much.
Steady run up Pendle today. I think I'm slowly getting back on form. :)
Back to normality a steady 8.5 miler tonight along the roads and around Pex Hill in Cronton. A bit different to running in the searing Majorcan heat around Port Pollenca last week and those 35+ degree temperatures. I must of been mad, anyway legs felt a bit tired tonight probably due to a full weeks running.
30 minute tempo run in Heaton Park with TGD. Bloody tough going in the wind and with sore legs.
60 minurtes in mancehester on road, nice day good sunshine
Two hours around Hayfield with Big Ken. Nice to see the sun for a change.
Enjoyed the climb up William Clough and the pint in the garden at The Sportsman afterwards.
The food was fantastic. New Management seem to have made a great start.
