Thanks for the splits - really helpful! Got my letter :w00t:
I have a place but like an idiot forgot about my son's 4th birthday party so can't do it now, if anyone wants my place please let me know and PM me your address, I can then send you the details, all you have to do then is take my confirmation letter on race day and inform the organiser.
Hope everyone got there entries in as Borrowdale website confirms race is now full, with substitutions allowed on the day.
My letter landed this morning happy days.
It's Lloyds birthday. Really looking forward to this!
Timed out of this race in 2010 (bad day). Looking forward to having another go in a few weeks.
Dragged my feet too long, no entry this year!
I've not heard anything yet! Has everybody had a response of some sort?
yup, got a form to fill in and bring on the day. Needless to say I'm expecting to forget it...
In the Lakes with the family during first week of August. Hoping to watch some of this race, any ideas of best places to be.
I am very keen to do this but didn't get an entry in in time. Does anyone have an entry going that they no longer need?
Thanks.
Hi,
I'm also looking for a last-minute Borrowdale entry if anyone has another entry they no longer need (after Rollerblader of course).
Thanks, Jasmin
Hi
Me to,would like to run Borrowdale if possible.Third in the queue after Jasmin.
Cheers Davie
Hi everyone,
What is the best map I can get as a back up for the Borrowdale race. I am going to get the race map, but thought I may as well get one of the surrounding area as well (as I seem to be there quite often at the moment). I'm looking for a laminated map if possible and would like it in 1 - 25000 if available.
Any ideas ??? :D
Dan
I was converted to Harvey maps after doing the SLMM. One of these would be ideal Dan. Amazon was as cheap and easy as anywhere when I looked
Agree, Harvey's maps are best. ydt
P.M me for a borrowdale entry.
Entry gone
Ah....Ha!
See you there Dan!
Jasmin & Davie - hope you get sorted too!
Hi! I'm also writing with a desperate plea for a Borrowdale entry please as I need it to be able to complete the championships as I've just discovered that I can't do the last race. If anybody has a spare entry please get in touch! Thanks.
Hi
I have an entry due to cracked ribs. PM me if you can
With regard to substitutions the info on the Borrowdale site states:
"That is where a runner, whose entry for the Borrowdale Fell Race has been accepted, is no longer able or no longer wishes to run in the Race and the substitute runner is able to demonstrate previous experience of long, arduous fell races. If he or she has not previously completed the Borrowdale Fell Race, the substitute runner must have completed at least two different category A or B long or two different category A medium fell races (race categories as defined by the Fell Runners’ Association) since 1st January 2010."
Does this mean we have to email the RO with our experience prior to the race or can we just stick the details on the substitution form?
I am still looking for an entry, if anyone can help.
I Have an entry going spare, glass ankles cannot cope with the rigours of long fell races, pm me.
Does anyone know if there are water stops at the checkpoints? I'm just trying to plan the contents of my bum bag so I can pack ... unpack ... repack ... unpack it again ... faff about a bit ... retail ... you get the idea!
Entry taken, all the best for a good weather day and excellent runs all round.
Cheers
I have an entry going spare - PM me
Entry taken
At checkpoints you are relying on people you know bringing drinks, and the good will of a few other kind hearted souls, but water is not a problem. Several places you cross clean water - on the path above esk hause you cross a good source, several places coming down the corridor. Small backpacks with bladders make life a whole lot easier!
