Who was it I said a quick Hi to on Calf Top Trig today? (sure I recognised you but we were both on a bit of a mission to beat the raiin I suspect.
I was finishing the Barbondale Round LDWA event and you were the ONLY person except marshalls that I saw all day!!
Fair few people up and around Skiddaw Friday and Saturday (3rd and 4th May) Anyone on here? Young guy going up Gt Calva looked as if he was going ok!? Much better than me at any rate! Two guys on Friday coming off Skiddaw passed the car park, and a young and older guy (older with a hat/balaclave on his heed!...and a dog on a lead)heading up were particularly noticable.
I'll need to check the farm name, but I got 'buzzed' by a large bird of prey around the Howgills as I dropped off the Calf a few years ago. I got a good look at it and had the feeling, having checked my 'bird spotter' books, that it was potentially a Goshawk!? Seemed a long shot but the look, behaviour etc matched pretty close. There was a pair with a smaller brown bird on a fence. It was a larger grey 'buzzed' me! I spoke to the farmer and he did say it was a Buzzard but wasn't really too sure.Quote:

Today at Dovestones car park 6pm. Male and female, bloke wearing fluro top. You looked as though you were on your way out, and I was just coming back. Was it you?
Top of Beamsley Beacon today ? Blue top, holding a bottle. I'd just come from Round Hill & was looking forward to the descent off the moors & through Middleton Woods !
Saw 2 runners at different points today one on Burbage Edge and one on Stanage near the trig.. Top running weather
Passed a fella on Nab Hill, Ovenden Moor yesterday....glorious if a little chilly. He was descending in a blue top. I was jogging up slowly.
Wearing a buff, running with a black lab (I think) & doing a Rombalds Recce. I was out with my son & his mate & my niece. Saw you at Horncliffe Well, a magical spot on the moors.
And another..........
I was approaching Simons Seat, via Barden Moor, with my mate & you were coming the other way in a bright orange waterproof. First time I've ever seen another runner on this section. It's usually deserted !
I had another at Ogden today ( I seldom used to see anyone but it's becoming regular). I had finished a run over the moor and a runner passed me near the visitor centre before heading up towards the Withins.
Studmarks spotted around Allestree Park and Bunkers hill.
Are there other fellrunners that train/run in this area?
I saw someone driving through Manchester this morning. You were driving, in a car, in Manchester, with a coat on, with the windows up. You looked like a runner.

It was just a wind proof as it goes.
I had a race number, but I'd folded in such a way that the number was fully concealed. I then hid it in my pants.

Today at about 2:00pm going up Caer Caradoc from the east in a blue windproof and black shorts. I was on the way down with Mrs S. Later I saw the same runner at Gaerstones farm. Was it you?
Today at Lost Lad up on Derwent Edge. I was admiring the scenery as you powered up one side and sped off down the other. X-Talons, an OMM pack and a cap.

Another two near Lost Lad yesterday about 18:00. You were a pair with a dog coming down from Lost Lad we were a pair heading from Back Tor to Lost Lad and very surprised to bump into two other runners out in the dark on a quiet Sunday eve. Unsurprisingly we didn't see any others on the rest of our run to Fiddlers Green.
