Re. Sharon's attempt and the BG in general, in isolation how difficult is Wasdale to Honister and Honister to Keswick? I've walked most of Honister to Keswick with my son when he was about 6 and I don't remember it being that difficult. Obviously, it's a totally different story after doing all the rest first and not having all day to do it.
Wasdale to Honister has some stiff steep climbs, the biggest being that from the valley to the summit of Yewbarrow. The climb up Great Gable is steep too, although not as long. The rest is just good fellwalking country - not easy but not desparate, as the Lakes ridges go.Quote:

Just had news they made Threlkeld with only 3 hours and a half hours left, had atrocious conditions on legs 3 and 4, both Stolly and Gav were absolutely frozen through. A brave effort lads, unforgiving weather again:thunbdown:
