I'll put a few cases in the car. although where I get parked is another matter.

pass out swung, so count me in for my first go at this one
fluo-green Fell Ponies vest - seesyall there! :)
So, my first race since moving to the Peak, and, all things considered, my first actual fell race that isnt the Box hill race.
I see the Drovers Arms is closed, so is there a post-race pub, or is it correct ettiquette to try and blag a beer off'f Iandarkpeak?
so as an extra challenge we get to run around the course with loose change in our pockets.
Disappointed to miss this little cracker, but driving over the pennines in advance of tomorrow's sister in law's wedding.
Daz, favourite quote from last year's race to give you a rough idea of what is to come came from, I think, Grouse...
"What second climb?"
;)
I have... observed a second climb on the map

Beautiful evening for this tough little race. Didn't go too well from a purely personal perspective. Steady 1st climb - in 5th at the top - started moorland bit on first descent - saw 3rd and 4th placed runners on wrong path down and left - stupidly decide they're in the right place - lacerate legs charging down through brambles to reach lower path - realise I had been right on the higher path - lacerate legs again going back through brambles - decide to abandon after losing loads of places - trot back - completely forget T shirt and water bottle left at the start / finish.
So if anyone picked up a dryflow cycling top "Tour de l'Oisans" which has some sentimental value and a water bottle (which doesn't) please get in touch and I'll arrange for their collection.
Still the ride over Holme Moss was good.
Hope everyone else had a more successful race!
Tom Brunt
A real cracker of a race my legs went a bit trying to descend after that second climb though!
Oh no, bad news Tom. You'd be justified to feel miffed. I hope you get the cycling top back. Were you the one standing to one side with two bloodied legs on the second hill?
It was my first time on this little lung burner, having decided to do it at the last minute. I even bought one of IDP's rescue ales. It was a fruitful evening (for me at least, sorry Tom). Many familiar faces were there. It was good to chat, as always.
It was a bit of a shock seeing you twice in the race, Don't usually see you at all after the off. Your legs looked a bit of state the second time. Hope they are not too bad.
My Legs went just after seeing Tom the first time, a proper crash and burn, scraped knee should and hip. Did'nt feel to be on top form, maybe put too much into Mondays trunce.
Results are up on the Glossopdale website. Go to the Herod Farm page.
enjoyed that
great little route and well organised/marshalled
shame no pub, but still friendly atmosphere on garage forecourt!
plenty of chatting with IDP, MTBB, BritNick, John4of5 & Marvin, and a bonus shout of encouragement from wormstone marshalling
Andy it already is pdf. Just 'save as'.
Many thanks to the organisers and marshals. It was well organised. Shame that a marker flag or two may have been 'misplaced'. The advantage of being well back in the field is that you can follow the crowd after the leaders' route-finding error has been corrected.
I thought the garage registration venue was pretty good too - plenty of parking space.
A few pics from last night's race here:http://bit.ly/exVKp3
Well done and thanks to all who turned out.
We were lucky enough to be in place when the youths moved the flags, hence Wormstone chased them up the hill and the flags were replaced with apologies. It wasn't as far up as where the other young uns went wrong. The solution will be an extra marshall at the path junction next year and of course to ban the young uns that went wrong from partaking because they are too fast :w00t:
Cracking race once more but mixed feelings again for me as it's always a nasty shock after a winter of flat running to coax the legs uphill again. Hoping the legs recover in time for Rivi on Saturday.
How did your mate fair IDP ?
Great race, I enjoyed it! Thanks again to everyone who were involved in organising & marshaling
cracking race and there's a brief report in my blog too
Nearly here :w00t:
Yep - this year's race is on this Wednesday, 18th April, starting promptly at 7:30 pm.
Visited the venue, Reliance Garage the other night. Just a couple of things to mention:
Firstly, with regard to Health and Safety I would like to remind competitors and their supporters that SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED at any time, anywhere on the premises at Reliance Garage.
Secondly, toilets should be available on the night.
Hope to see a few of you at the race!
Werdna
And a couple more things - there will be commemorative Glossopdale Harriers 30th Anniversary mugs and "Bogtrotter" beer on sale on the night. £7 for a mug; £2 for a bottle for beer.
Bump.
You are of course allowed a sneaky puff or three as you climb back up the Nab, that's if you manage to have a hand free.:sneaky:
I'm sure the rain will take care of the extinguishment of any rogue Woodbines, in stark contrast to last year when it was almost warm enough for them to spontaneously combust (almost )
Looking forward to tonight, don't forget to bring some spare cash. Specially designed packets of cigarettes, cigars and wacky baccy will be on sale. Plus specially brewed limited edition beer. Oh and some mugs for the sobering up coffee after the race.
:w00t:
Doubt there will be any lighting up tonight, it hasn't stopped pouring it down all day, Never done this race when it was wet, could be interesting!
Ian, Its not wet over this side of the hill, Bone dry.
Just bring racing flats, you'll be fine.
