8.5 mile on the Treadmill at lunch time today used it more for building my speed work up. First time on a treadmill in a long time.
since sunday I've done
a 10k road race
a 5 k run
55 miles on the bike
and 2 swims!
and it's still only thursday:D
The Beachy Head marathon beckons so I did the Seven Sisters yesterday after work (no sniggering at the back there!). Went Birling Gap to Exceat and back so 14 Sisters in all in about seven miles. It was dark by the time I finished which made it interesting, but seeing the sun set was was a pretty good bonus.
Cheers - Raymond
did about 1 hour ish on the fells, the comeback is on!! :)
5 mile yesterday on dangerous roads around Albany in New York State. Temp reasonable enough in the evening made the run almost comfortable
Tonight did 5 miles again back home and it was absolutely BOILING and very very humid. I hate running in this weather - I will never get used to it. It hasnt really rained here for about 8 weeks and the place is parched. I am looking forward to some colder weather now
11 miles on the roads today following on from 7.25 miles yesterday on the Treadmill.
You've been busy Emmilou! Anyone would think you were training for Helvellyn triathalon - I think it's quite soon.
I've not run since the Derwent trail race last Saturday - shin splints :(
2 bike rides in the hills have helped though and my leg is on the mend :)
Rhinog fawr, Rhinog Fach, Yr Llethr, a long bushwacking loop down from there and back up Rhinog fawr again. Looking for routes and paths but one of the best and strongest runs I've had for ages - 5 hours out.
i love the rhinogs, only been up there once back in april, got a bit lost :p
7m yesterday on road and trail
4m this morning over the fields and streams (much better)
1hr45 on the roads, longest run for 5 weeks. Hoping my back will be better & allow me a full weeks training.
9.5 miles and lots of hills with Sparth, Spirit and Limpet. Had a bit of an accident with a sheep.
31 miles on the bike yesterday, 12 miles off road round Sutton Park today. Made the mistake of turning up for a club run. Can't remember the last time a ran that hard in training!
Great Yorkshire Run this morning. What was great about it I haven't a clue. I have not ran that slow since, well I don't know. I know why I ran slow. Not easing down and running 100+ miles a week for ages now. Hopefully it will pay off at Dublin marathon.
Did another 6.5 miles on the canal afterwards and TGD, John Brown, Mark Carroll, Matt Bond and Vicky Gill.
And this is how slow I did run!!!
1, J Kibowen (Kenya) 28minutes 40seconds
2, A Letherby (Australia) 29:04
3, T Abyu (GB) 29:19
4, J Ndayisenga (Kenya) 29:27
5, J Brown(GB) 29:28

8, A Mezgebu (Ethiopia) 30:00

i wouldn't worry about andi, sure the miles will pay off at the marathon, did 1 hour quite fast over the moors from carrbrook
Typical!! The 'today's resting' thread starts just as I feel ready to run again after 10 weeks of back related problems (The Tatra mountains walking holiday in July didn't help!!) , so I guess I'll have to contribute here instead:
Yesterday - 16 mins run (come on its a start again!!) - 70% off-road on field paths.
Today - 20 miles bike with 'leisure cyclist' friend - along towpath from Newlay Bridge to Hirst Lock, Saltaire towpath - so plenty of stop/start/slow down/ice cream & beer to finish.
8 miles today - wanted to do 10 though

Easy 6 miles on the bike today - in my jeans :)
Biked 5 hilly miles yesterday, walked up my nearest fell :) then jogged 50 paces :D - my first running in 9 days and then shins felt OK :D
8.5 miler tonight for me on the roads with Sinatra and another work colleague. Mileage is on the up now I have run almost 70 miles in the last 8 days with one rest day on Sunday. Started working at improving my speed got a few 10k's planned this month and next and possibly a half marathon or two.
Had a good few days, did most of the Peris route sunday (about 17 miles) , 6.5 miles in Beddgellert forest last night, then 6.5 miles up Moel Cynghorien and down the end of the Peris route tonight, stunning clouds tonight. I just topped out above a narrow ribbon of cloud forming an inversion on the peak. Mileage has been low for a few weeks though, will be back over 50 this week, but dropped to 40ish for the last 3.
Great run over Cracken Edge with Ken Burgess on his 65th birthday.
Celebrated with lunch and a pint outside the Lamb. What a glorious day!
sounds very nice Swoop
50 minutes swim for me this morning followed by a 3 mile run (after getting changed:rolleyes: )
Cycle tonight
8 miles last night with ilkeston ladies :)
Did I ever tell you my only ever goal scored as a keeper was against Ilkeston, when Kieth Alexander was manager, he even congratulated me. Top right hand corner, 25 yard free kick, I was the goal keeper, for some reason I ran off and kissed the badge of the team knowing I was leaving. I've scored 3 goals in 18 years of football, they stick in the memory...
1h 48mins on roads. Bits of up 'n' down. Not sure how far.....sorry....
:p
Bike ride completed last night so a good day training wise although it was more of a leisurely pootle if I'm honest:o
This morning, 50 minutes drinking pool water whilst thrashing around trying to master the art of tumble turns and faffing with RUBBISH goggles:mad:
Bike ride later although my sister (she's visiting - lives in Norway!) has decided she wants to have a go on the road bike - hmmm she's younger than me but much more scary  best oblige!!:p
Does doing naff alll but having a massage count as training? It sorted out my knee.
