Glad that tickled you Hes. It made me smile when I managed to download it as I normally advocate the straighter lines in fell running.
Ah well nothing ventured nothing gained and only minutes lost.

We missed the start. Ended up getting to stair at about 12:15. Ended up having a run joining the main route at Dale head and running through the race field and pulling out at the end. Gutted I didn't do the whole thing but was a lovely run out.
Thank you to all whose hard work made it another fantastic event.

Happy Anniversary to Steve and Wynn. My wife and I will clock up 30 years this year. I can't help noticing that our anniversary falls on the weekend of the Rab Mountain Marathon. I haven't mentioned this yet. Any advice as to how to raise the subject?
On SHR
I put the results up on the AW website here..
Also the teenager and report.

Chocy cake for Phil Green 1st entry in
Anyone know if the humped back bridge closure in Stair will affect things? I know it's not on the race route but it will definitely affect access to the village.

should be ok - longer walk out for the teenager and all cars will have to use the carpark at a cost
I'm thinking of doing a recce this weekend. What are the snow conditions on the route at the moment? Is it clear of snow/ice or are crampons still needed on the tops?
A Clubmate is injured and wants to know if subs are allowed? Can anyone clarify? If yes, I'll start negotiations at home and snaffle the place
One of these people should be able to give you the definitive answer.
With no access over the bridge at Stair we have a few potential problems. Everyone needs to come into the race via the Swinside and park in the official carpark (there is a charge). The police will monitor and remove any cars causing an obstruction.
The TWA will have a 30 – 40 minute walk to the start from the village Hall via the Uzzicar footbridge

Thanks - can't wait! :)
Wynn, will it be possible to just wade across the river rather than walk all the way round?
I guess you could - but not near the bridge... wouldn't want you to get damaged!!
A beautiful day out in the hills today. Thanks to all the organisers :)
I competed in the TWA today, it was the first fell race (and indeed any race) I have ever entered. I was incredibly impressed with the whole atmosphere and organisation. On every check point the Marshals were friendly and supportive, thanks to all of you. I was also impressed with how appreciative all the runners were, taking time to thank the marshals for giving up their day and making the race possible for us.
In the early 90s I ran the first indoor bouldering competitions in England, we relied heavily on volunteers to make the Bouldering leagues possible, today reminded me of that spirit a lot.
So its "hats off" to the fell running community from me.
Once again thanks to all involved.

Pictures look stunning, was a great day for it. very sad to have missed it
Brilliant as ever, can't believe how clear it was today. Stunning views all day!
Also sad that I missed it but when you are on delivery suite waiting for the arival of your second baby is a fair excuse for missing it. Hope to do it next year.
First Waltz for me today. Loved it!
What a beast (Teenager) with some absolutely jaw-dropping views. I'll certainly be making more journeys to Cumbria in future. Highlights? Superb marshalls, great organisation, the two small lakes revealing themselves on one of the earlier climbs, the quad-punishing plunge off Whiteless, and the stunning run-in along the top. Thanks to all involved.
Well done to all the runners in both races!
Ran last year but enjoyed supporting near cat bells this year, immense views. Teenager looks/sounds a beast.
Be back to run one of them next year.
I'm interested in seeing the results, congrats to the winner, I saw his time and my legs shrivelled up to the size of hot dog sausages. Beast.

Cracking event, Wynn. Thank you to all involved.
loved it
small glitch on the results - you've got the same person coming in 50th and 165th (AW)
Thanks Wynn. It was a great day, perfect conditions. My quads are still sore but the memories of those views will still be there after the pain has subsided. Left with a good stash of cakes too that helped to take my mind off the pain.
