Marshalling on Dale Head and watched as some runners went wide to the right and the next group just followed them. When i have raced i have seen runners heading for the tarn from the wide right. After the last runners went through Geoff Briggs and myself went to check it out.The first part is grass and fast but in the clagg you could follow the path to Honister.Lower down it gets steeper rocky and would be slipper if it is wet. I will keep to my usual decent and keep to right of the direct path down.

a few of us went for the far right borrowdale line, was kinder to recovering legs. We went so far right we've renamed it the "Farrage" line. I caught several who were a hundred yards ahead at the cp top of dale head. {lovely and grassy}. As for Nick Airey (unattached from Prenton Merseyside} he is also PNG at Simonside FR and Windy Gyle FR , Northumberland.

Ha, that's brilliant. Though I'm not sure I'd ever want to use it on principal...

Forgive my ignorance, what does PNG stand for (except for portable network graphic...)?

Thanks to Wynn and the team for a fab day out! Great route, cheery marshalls and the veggie stew, beetroot and beer at the finish was luscious.

Cheers! Rhys Findlay-Robinson won the TWA though I'm not sure in what time (sub 3-hours I think). Not sure about the AW.

Thought he might have won from the photos.

Persona non grata does not mean that someone runs for Red Bull, I should add.

    Will cheer up someone's day.

And I'm pleased I managed to download an image.

ha ha, brilliant! I headed straight down from Dale Head and to the left shore of the tarn which seemed ok, if a little tussocky, bouldery and scrambly! At least I got to sit down in a couple places

All in all a really fantastic day out. I was really nervous about doing the TWA but have survived it in tact and with only a medium case of DOMS A big thanks to all concerned and the food at the end was very welcome!
