Lovely 7 mile run around Newborough Forest and Llandwyn Island, stunning being out on the island, big seas, mountains in the back ground, storm clouds, setting sun. Magical run.
5 a.m. start in the dark and into the trees, where it's darker. Up, up and out, round the back of the dam with the sun rising. Deer scarper off the trail, scooting up the hill side considerably faster than I ever could. Pop out onto the road to traverse the front of the dam, a troop of monkeys are lying picking at each others fur and nuzzling a nipple or two. Back down through the trees, more deer scooting left and right. Pull-ups on a tree 'till my arms hurt and back for a bowl of porridge before the kids and the wife get up. 7 miles.
Now for the day...
You know, last time I was in Bacup I thought I saw a bit of nipple nuzzlin' going on under one of the bushes by the side of the road. Late on a Friday night though, couldn't quite make out the species. This particular troop were here.Quote:
You weren't running in Bacup, were you?
cos its fun and you enjoy it!
23 miles on the iron horse last night for me.
Knee still fooked!

No running today. I hate days when I don;t run.
Stuck inside all day long, longing to go running after work and not allowed.
Decided to make it for it by going to watch Run fat Boy, Run tonight.
Went for my first ever morning run today :) (is that the smuggest smiley we've got?)
A good mix this week of running/biking/turbo. My quads after Scafell FR were hammered and it took until Wednesday for them to come too - far too little proper hill work!
A steady 8 on my lunch break. Easy tiger....

I would have been a bit more adventurous but I wanted to stay close to Dunmail in case it went dark as it was getting late afternoon.
Im a wuss, but the lakes is no place to be in the fog and dark on your own.
Not running now till monday.

Boring, eh?
Four hours from Dovestone reservoir over Wessenden Head Moor and back past Chew reservoir.
6 miles over the wobbly bits in my new innov 8 rocklites
they seem okay
I wouldnt exactly call my running "training" at the moment. Its more like try to fit it in when I can. Went out for just 3 miles tonight on the road and it was a real bloody slog to be honest. I felt like an old cart horse. Did 5 miles Monday and that was slightly better but still crap.
Found that if I run around my garden ( takes 2 mins for a lap) then I am off the roads and achilles doesnt ache.
I enjoy it over here but I cant claim to be fit at them moment
We had a good laugh watching Atonement as well but that was only because a fat bastard fell asleep during it and started snoring as loud as i have ever heard anyone. During quiet moments of the film the rest of the audience entertained themselves by chucking stuff at the fat c**t
1 hour steady cycle going to do 2 hours on the moors tommorow
8.25 mile today on the roads planned on doing a bit more but my hip was aching after 4 miles and started struggling a bit. Wondering whether its down to new Asics Cumulus road shoes I have been using this week? only used them 5-6 times on distances of no more than 6 miles.
Eadle onto Kinder, Win Hill, into hope, Lose Hill, over to Mam Tor back to Edael, took it easy, nice running over Kinder, swarming with tourists and filthy looks from Lose Hill to Mam Tor
Just starting to get back to enjoying training again
Mon 2.5 mile hill reps
Wed 7 mile around playing fields
Fri 5 mile on road
Sat 6 mile in fields and woods
Sun 16 mile on road bike
I did an absolutely georgeous autumnal run this morning - from Bolton Abbey village hall down and north along the river Wharfe through the woods, past the Strid to Barden Bridge, over the bridge and continuing along the Wharfe, past the campsite to Daleshead farm, through the gate and up a c. 400 metre zig zag ascent to Simon's Seat, a boggy, rocky run along the top of the moor before descending to the valley of desolation and back to the Wharfe, through the woods overlooking the Bolton Abbey ruins, down to the river, over the stepping stones and back to where I started.
Something like 13 miles I'd guess - I did it in 1 hour 47 anyway. Brilliant run either way.
6.5 miles/600' @ 6'30" on the road for a change - need some leg speed and wanted to try my new top of the range Asics gel road shoes - can't get them dirty eh!:)
