A very Merry Christmas one and all. I'm off to the pub tonight! :p
The pub has come to me :D
Evening Folks!
The wife's starred again - off to bed trolleyed early doors :)
I'm going to have to look at longish road ones soon to get the mileage up. Just replaced my asics gel thingy shoes today at the race, around 30 quid cheaper than at the running shop.
Wilmslow is a good race, just about big enough without being destroyed by being another GNR.
I'll check UK Results fixtures. don't want anything high profile. Great North or London would do nothing for me at all.
Shoes will always be a personal thing. Use what works for you. Mine or anyone elses reccomendation may not be your cup of tea Al.
Running Shoes is defo a personal thing. What suits one does not suit all. Sweatshop in Hyde is a great shop for getting sorted. Although you can buy much cheaper on the net.
Ady if you do go for a road race for god's sake go for an interesting one. I've really enjoyed the Coniston 14 and the Great Langdale half and would do the latter as a marathon given a choice. Well either that or one of these:
Windemere Marathon
Snowdon Marathon
Loch Ness Marathon
Most road races are flat as arseholes and all about pbs rather than experiencing the countryside. Just think of all the city centre 10K's on offer
I won't be turning into a clock watching tarmac pounder Stolly!! Just want some longer races both on and off the fells to get me ready for major pain :)
The Wilmslow Half is a bit steep in price £23.60 for a road race mind you I suppose most are in this bracket now.
Evening oil.
Ey up ML. Gotta get up at 5am for next 3 days due to work but have enjoyed the last few off and will enjoy days off after Monday!
