    Evening Al,

I have gone right off the Asics stuff been using Nike running shoes for the last year and have found them much better for me than Asics.

No! No! No! They just cause injuries. You want less cushioning, not more.

Gel Kayano I think it is I use. An anti over pronating shoe. They are around 100 quid but can be found cheaper in the sales. Good shoe for those with wide feet.

    Evening Ady,

Agree with you the London Marathon does nowt for me at all. Although I do fancy having a crack at full Mara at some point.

When you look at other challenges, a marathon seems small beer. Will get my diary planned soon, just hope I can keep injury at bay as I am loving my running at the moment.

Running Shoes is defo a personal thing. What suits one does not suit all. Sweatshop in Hyde is a great shop for getting sorted. Although you can buy much cheaper on the net.

Ady if you do go for a road race for god's sake go for an interesting one. I've really enjoyed the Coniston 14 and the Great Langdale half and would do the latter as a marathon given a choice. Well either that or one of these:

    Windemere Marathon
    Snowdon Marathon
    Loch Ness Marathon

Most road races are flat as arseholes and all about pbs rather than experiencing the countryside. Just think of all the city centre 10K's on offer
