A potter round the half tour of pendle.
What a cracking day out.
did 6 miles over hartshead pike and mossley cross, afer a boring day at work it was so uplifting to get out and run and see the sun going down over manchester, felt great to be out running
8 Miles 1550ft on the roads and paths around Darwen.
Night off tommorow.
Finally decided to complete a personal goal I set at the beginning of this year. Ran to work this morning 21 miles down the A6 Chorley to Manchester.
Well back in Huddersfield for a few days before heading back up to my new base in the Lakes.
The weather for the past few weeks has been really nice and sunny, but really cold.
A morning run around Langdale has been beautiful and a lunch time stroll on the fells in Grasmere has been bril.
An easier day for me today, as Val is having a break today (thank goodness!)
My personal goal is to run to work Darwen to Birchwood Warrington. Its 24miles via Winter Hill.
You have just inspired me to have a go at this. Thing is how did you/do I get home.
3 miles then 5k handicap race with club
coughing my lungs up after that :(
Luckily I have a work colleague that lives nearby and was able to drop me off at home after work. There was no way I going to run home. A complete off road route would have been better because I really didn't enjoy the traffic fumes. Your run to work sounds like a good one, just allow plenty of time
70mins off road this evening including Farnhill Pinnacle, with my mate Dave. Taking it easy now til Beachy Head Marathon Saturday.
6 miles fell with torch
need to get some some new battery's :p
A 10 mile head torcher - from Skipton, up through Raikes, across the fields (cow attack!), past the caravan park, top of Bog Lane, up around through the partially forested side of Sharp Haw, up the Rhodedendrum tunnel, up and over Sharp Haw itself from behind, a swift descent to Bog Lane, over the fields to Brackenly Lane, up through Skipton Golf Course, over the duel carriageway, through Skipton Woods, down the back of the Castle and home :)
Brilliant.
First decent run on the roads tonight in almost three weeks a good 40 minute session around the Cronton area with no ill effects from the recent hip injury.
14 mile 3100ft ascent pottering round Derbyshire somewhere with Swoop and friends.
Hayfield to Edale and back up Jacobs ladder and so on etc.
What a good day though.
This Friday running is great.:)
Part of Leg 3 of the BG, we got as far as Rossett Pike from Dunmail. Is their acutually a good line to Rossett Pike from Stake pass, cos I can never find it.
Had a great day with IanDarkPeak, Amex and my mate Kev. The rain did not help really but you cant expect to go to the lakes in october and not expect to not get wet.
15miles and 5500ft of climb.
That sounds like hard work helly. Makes my 22.5 on the relative flat seem paltry.
3 hours on the mountain bike with 1500ft ascent and THREE punctures. One on the front (no probs - spare tube straight in) then two on the back. Fixed the first rear one, got geared up again and ready to rumble and the fecker was flat again! Not happy. Managed to get the bugger sorted and get home before dark. Luckily there was lots of nibbles left over from last nights Halloween party to shove down my throat.
That rucsac has ruined the bottom of my back and round my hips. Talk about chaffing. My bath was mega painful.
Nigel my mate who went walking had a mega walk about 11miles 4000ft , there is no reason why he could not have come along. He just needs pursuading
Why didn't you take the Langdale route over to Rossett Pike? I know conditions were crap today, so that coould have made finding the line quite tricky.
Oh me and the dog went over Winter Hill today, and he was a gigantic pain in the arse today. I think he was over excieted to be out running, so I'm taking him out again tomorrow morning to see if he's any better.
Did the Yorkshire Three Peaks today with a few mates from work. Weather was crap and visiblility was crap!!!
recced the leg 4 of the calderdale way with my speedy mate lofty (kcac) quick shower of rain made the stone sett slippery, but good run. pity stagger couldn't make it with us too.
well my dodgy ankle finally went over a little to far today, had to limp down to tanners mill and get a lift home after about 7 miles of my planned 15
8 mile fast dog walk earlier :)
trying to muster up energy for my long run now:(
its got to be a night run , is it a full moon
Planned on doing the Worksop half until I saw weather.
Instead I went out in the sunshine this afternoon and I did a hilly 18.5k round Bradfield in 1.29. Much better than paying £15 pound to run in the wet around a flat course.
Did the full tour of Pendle route with Blackfoot and his mate Declan.
The weather was poor at the start but glorious when we finished. We took some good lines and some bad lines today.
Looking forward to the race now.
Jamie
How far did you go Mike?
12 miles over the hills with NEARLY a full moon :) , glad i waited till the dark,
didnt take the dog as it was to far and he wasnt happy as i crept out the door:(
