Would love to give Fairfield a go but I'm at Ribblehead bunkbarn for that weekend doing Three Peaks. Would cancel it to do Fairfield but then I'd be dropping people in it. Also I'm a bit scared of doing these shorter races as I'm not very fast! :o There's always next year and hopefully I will have improved a bit by then!
Are there any Ponies over 50 doing the Fellsman this weekend?
If so, theres a couple of runners looking for someone to make up a 3 man team....let me know:)
News Flash...Dryderdale Dash, Hamsterley Forest!!!!
Pony spotted galloping to 10th position, didn't recognise him so asked hoo he was on the FRA forum, he said he doesn't have a computer:eek:
Forgot to ask his name so will check results when out, well done anyways:)
Sorry Matey, he had a good gallop though and his coat (and vest) was glistening proudly in the setting sun as we all gathered for the presentation
Happy Birthday for tomorrow;)
Ta Steve:D
Ah reckon MG must only work part time:eek:
He he....light the blue touch paper and stand....:D
Ah divvent drink marra:D
Wish'd ah was at pub mind, its lovely out there.
Am stuck at work (the boss's off tho', hence me skiving)
Probably going to Lakes tomorrow to recc BG bits
Happy Birthday Master! :)
Flat road 5k for me tonight
I'll be sporting my "Classic" (black with white) FP vest mind
Has anyone got anything in their diaries for 1st June? You are probably all doing Duddon 31st May? But I'm working 12 hour shift on the Sat. Looking for something within my capabilities for the Sunday?
MG - Saddleworth is the only one in the FRA calendar (3M/950ft)
(there's also Yetholm Hill if you're willing to venture up to the Borders)
plus Shining Cliffs at Ambergate (near Derby) (keep meaning to do that one meself)
even road races are a bit thin on the ground, I think because it is a big Race For Life day
best bet is probably:
Roberttown 7
there's also:
Humber Bridge 10k...
Watergate 10k (Gateshead)
i'd just like to add saddleworth is such an underrated race, more people should run,it's awesome
Thanks very much for the info Daz. They all seem a bit far to drive for those race distances. Would make exceptions for the Lake District though. Might see if I can swap my shifts round and think about the short Duddon.
Cheers. Enjoy Fairfield next weekend...I'm jealous! ;)
