Re: Bloomin' blisters! :-(
Best thing for blisters is to coat your feet with pure lanolin then carefully put your sock over your foot without wiping it off. Vaseline gave me blisters but I've raced 100 miles (once) and 100km several times non stop without any problems using lanolin.
The lanolin is not that easy to get hold of, however you can get it direct from producers online
or NK Chemicals Ltd 01924 444849 (ask for Martin Gunson)
you ask for anhydrous lanolin
Hope this helps
Re: Bloomin' blisters! :-(
Only a 100 miles.....wow!
Ta for the tip!
Re: Bloomin' blisters! :-(
After being given some Compeed plasters last week, all I can say is "bloomin' marvellous!". Fantastic things - forms a gel barrier over the blister and allows you to get on with it. Ran 15miles on Sat and training is back on track.
Re: Bloomin' blisters! :-(
A cheaper alternative to Compeed or an alternative when the blister is bigger than the largest compeed is zinc oxide tape see here
Re: Bloomin' blisters! :-(
Can't believe you got a blister of that size in that place!!!
Mine's definitely smaller and on my heel. Interesting stuff that zinc oxide tape. I'll get some in.

Many people spend a fortune on bodyglide but not quite sure why when good old vasaline works so well.
I Know we have talked about this before but I use Antifriction cream from Decathlon on all my ultra long runs/races, not only on my feet but also those other important places...:o
